Damn, I got convinced after watching a Vtuber play almost religiously. Glad I hopped in with the XBox crowd, so many updated guides.

A lot of really suburb information here that you don't get very often from other guides. Especially all the Chocobo stuff. A lot of guides kinda skip over this stuff because it might not be relevant to being efficient, but sometimes being efficient isn't the "be-all end-all." Your snack example is perfect. Sure, it's probably way faster to just fly yourself, but being able to get a snack while auto-piloting is an asset. Same with the Choco Companion. it might be "More efficient" to level with just Dungeons or POTD, But sometimes it's good to mix it up and not just spam the same type of content over and over. Something FATEs while you're waiting in a DPS queue, or you're multitasking and don't want to 100% focus on the game. The Chocobo Companion helps out a ton in this regard.

Great guide. Thank you, Aitherea. A big thanks to the community as a whole too! I have never played a game in which the vets habe so much patience for a noob😊
  • The video says it's a beginner's guide but glamour is the endgame of FFXIV.
  • @WhenzJuly
This was so helpful I was so confused with the glam and I thought I had to use the fantasia to change my hair color I'm so glad I saw this before getting it

There is a set of quests in Tailfeather, that gives the onions as well as fruits, which can be used to feed/train/dye your chocobo ❤

Great video as always! Glamour dispellers can be purchased in the residential zones (apt merchant). I loved a lot of the glams you used! I hope you'll consider doing an updated glam showcase vid.

I've been playing for almost 3 years now, and if there's one thing I haven't done, it's unlocking the chocobo porters. I have only unlocked a few. For some reason I actually enjoy just strolling (or flying) within different areas, and sometimes I refrain using teleporting, if there's a cheaper way to get where I want and I'm close to it (not counting all the free teleporting). For example, you can get to Limsa Lominsa from Vesper Bay in Western Thanalan by boat, and it only costs little bit of gil, whereas teleporting to Limsa Lominsa while in Western Thanalan costs hundreds of gil. This can become even more apparent after getting to Stormblood and Endwalker.

Great video, I linked this to a friend that just picked up the game again. I'll also add that glamour plates can be applied in any rested area. Not just a city, so any time you see a moon icon next to your XP bar. There is also the recommended gear button, which is the icon in the character window with the sword and shield and two stars next to it. It puts on the best gear you have in your armory chest for whatever job you're on. (There's exceptions when it comes to certain pieces of content, but it's good for most cases/scenarios)
  • @tyler5013
Also as a reminder once you attune to all the small aetherites in a city it also unlocks the ability to teleport to that city's airship landing and outside the city's gates
  • @kadetanaka5325
I do wanna mention you can also get glamour dispellers from NPC vendors, notably from Bango Zango in Limsa, Maisenta from Gridania, and their Ul'dahn counterpart - I forget the name. IMO it's the better option for buying dispellers.
  • There’s a way to do the walk backwards on controller, but it requires a hard lock on to something, otherwise your just running in the other direction
  • @notcolexd
Good video, good glams, lovely voice. 👍
