Should I continue trying to build my spice tolerance?
  • This girl saying she's tapping out and continuing to take five more bites is literally a metaphor for my entire life

Hi Lisa! Fun fact- the reason you feel that “vibrating” sensation when you eat spicy foods is because it triggers the same pain receptors in your skin that react to heat, called polymodal nociceptors. These are pain fibers that exist all over the body. The spicy food excites those receptors and we feel the sensation of ‘tingling’ or ‘vibration’. 🙂
  • As a child I was afraid of eating those spicy noodles coz my spice tolerance was severely low. I admired the kids my age who willingly asked to have spicy noodles and foods for snack time though. Now I love spicy foods and I often look for spicy noodles in grocery stores. Younger me would be proud, though she'd be disappointed at the same time coz I only started eating spicy stuff before I finished college, which wasn't that long ago.
  • she's so sweet I can't believe so many people recommended fizzy drinks and even mint, MINT gum, like srsly? she's too sweet for all that and she takes all the time to do these and let alone make this whole compilation, Lisa if you see this thank you for taking time out of your days to do these challenges (I'd never be able to so I really look up to you 😂)

Look how far she came with her spice tolerance! From Day 1 where she was struggling to eat the jalapeños to her recent challenge eating 3 tbsps of chilli flakes😍. Bravo Lisa 👏

I liked the fact that she was honest when things where too spicy and didn’t end the video immediately when the spice kicked in like the others, props to her
  • With so many people trying the spicy challenges I was trying to do as much research as I could about what works best for spicy food to calm the spice & this is what I found. Basically once you reach into these higher scoville ranges you're pretty stuck with the spice for about 20 min. The bread will help absorb any surface chili oils out of the mouth & everything remaining is only fat soluble so whole milk & ice cream will help break it up. The reason for the 20 minutes is because hot peppers cause a chemical reaction in the brain & the higher scoville brings a longer reaction because your brain thinks something is burning you which is why you make a ton of saliva, snot & tears to try & flush it out & it takes about 20 min for your brain to decide you're safe.

One time I tried Carolina reaper beef jerky thinking it was regular beef jerky and it was the worst experience ever. She definitely built up a spice tolerance to handle that lol.

This series legit got me through online school I remember watching the first few episodes months ago and looking forward to it. It's so amazing how far you've come it almost makes me think I could try building up my spice tolerance.

Kinda wondering how the ramen with the chili flakes tastes. It honestly looks like it would be grainy since it’s like 70% flakes 😂

This reminds me of the time I made noodles at my grandmothers.. went to add some pepper flakes, and used to POUR side instead of the SIFT side 😭 I tried not to waste them (not knowing that noodles were dirt cheap as a child) and by the third bite, the heat coming off the noodles mixed with the heat from the pepper flake was unbearable. My grandma laughed as she found me dying from the heat 😂😂😂

Lisa’s the only person to use Taki’s as a way to cool down the spice 😅☠️ Thanks for the likes :)))
  • I’ve been here since day one. It’s insane to see how far you’ve come. I’m glad I’ve been here to see your growth. Keep cooking :)
  • I feel like the people that suggest remedies are actually just messing with her, really warm water and mint gum?! at this point she might as well not try anything lol
  • Love this! Thanks for putting it all together for us lazy people 😂
