The developer team behind BeamNG is known for listening to the community and being special overall. But what truly sets them apart? To find out, I reached out to Chuck, a former BeamNG developer and delved into the depths of the internet. Enjoy! :D

Those beamng devs surely must be feeling fortunate having this enthusiastic community! I too wonder if they watch videos and take note of the feedback from people... So anyway, your video got linked by nadeox in our internal dev chat \o/ The video has definitely brightened this sunday night for me; positive feedback is always a welcome boost in morale, and it pushes us to continue trying our best. So from one of those remote devs (saludos from spain), and on behalf of the whole dev team, thanks everyone, even you weirdos who hate the wydra, for your constant amazing support! <3 Ps: a minor correction mentioned by devs from vehicle team, because they found the video Literally Unwatchable ;) is that we don't outsource full vehicles, but rather we sometimes decide to outsource a part of its creation process. The reason is simple: it's just impossible to find someone with the full necessary skillset, all the way from concept art/design + modelling + engineering + jbeaming + vehicle dynamics + audio + optimization + vehicle electronics/subsystems + etc, specially since we try to target certain threshold of quality in every single of those areas. Pps: minor insight, some of the outsourcers have ended up being welcomed into the dev team, similar to how we've sometimes decided to hire promising modders from the community.

I swear, The BeamNG devs do not sleep. They pump out massive updates 2-3 months after another big update.
  • The fact that instead of trying to stop piracy, they just say "hey, do you like our game?" "Why not pay for it to get the best experience"
  • @segeros
And it all started with a little game called Rigs of Rods. We now have a shit ton of mods for it, talking from experience since i'm in one of the modding servers.
  • After playing Beamng other car game feels boring and lifeless. It is really hard to give a game its unique character and make it livid. Hats off to the BeamNG devs for giving us such a masterpiece of a game. No matter what happens. This game will always be my Number 1.
  • BeamNG drive is slowly becoming more realistic, until it becomes just so realistic that will look same as real life (also i started watching this video under half minutes) edit: i see, alot of likes
  • @Bruhnaccia
the game REALLY deserves better sounds: burbles, pops, bangs, engine damage sounds, tire squeals, engine sounds based on the exhaust status (sound ray-tracing maybe?? idk) cockpit sounds and so on. beautiful game <3 Edit: you should really consider adding more engine types, ie boxers, rotary's, old 2 stroke engines and so on
  • My favorite part of BeamNG is how supportive the community is. I've been in a handful of gaming communities and was always disappointed by how toxic players could be towards devs. But the bulk of BeamNG players are open to the direction the developers are taking the game and rarely complain; Knowing the developers can't please everyone at once :D
  • One thing the BeamNG devs did better than triple A games; Hiring the people who's passionate about the game. As stated in the video, the great example is Agent_Y getting hired because he knows and passionate about messing with Jbeams. Incredible video and incredible devs.
  • @BeamngTV
I'm so glad bein part of the BeamNG Community for over 8 years. It's been a crazy ride and every year the game makes me more and more happy. Can't wait for another 8 years. This will be the TOP game on the market. The Rigs Of Rods, everytime you talk about it, all of my moments comes back haha. I have a very old channel on YT with few crash compilations from that game 😃
  • Also a big thanks to the devs for not charging dlc. The game has gotten so much better over the years it's INSANE!
  • The thing about offroad vehicles is that they typically have more niche types of suspension and drive systems, which gives the opportunity dev team to add underlying systems that can be used for other things later. For example, the Wydra being amphibious or a skid-steer.
  • @Plumpbobb
if they make the multiplayer easier to access this game will absolutely explode
  • @surr0u
Most anticipated update in Beamng -Graphics mod -Online -split screen
  • Haha, I found it ironic that you were talking about how we read the comments, as I was reading the comments lol. Anyways super cool video! Made me smile :D!
  • Another thing you could have mentioned: Rigs of Rods is still having user made content pumped out nearly weekly and still has an sctive user base
  • Thank BeamNG devs! Your game is amazing and i absolutely love playing this game! Thanks again for all of your time you guys put into this beautiful game! :)
