Congrats to Jay man! Such a nice guy to talk to. Well deserved. Great interview Tim. Hope those solutions are able to come soon.

I can’t believe this channel does not have more subscribers, it certainly deserve more. Great job/content Tim!

I absolutely love my Tundra Platinum!!! I know things don’t happen overnight but Toyota has addressed lots of issues along the way and as a new generation owner I’ve noticed it. Great video Tim you pioneered an interview that other you tubers will follow up on. You asked a lot of good questions
  • @MrGunner945
If the toughest questions are about a little bit of window noise and a potential broken plastic piece on the seat, Toyota must be doing something right!
  • @ML-lg4ky
Toyota has to listen to us truck folks and fix the tundra to make it acceptable. Seats, tow hooks, infotainment, trim and door gasket fitment…
  • @Wellh0wrya
This guy didn’t listen to the consumers regarding anything for the 2024 model.

How about FINALLY making a damn HD truck! I’m going to have to trade in my Tundra. I need at least a 3/4 ton.

Tim, you are a straight shooter. When I opened this video and I saw your guest, I said "If he doesn't bring up some of the nagging issues this may be my last days as a subscriber". You didn't disappoint. I know you didn't want to go through the every item and seem unappreciative, but I was hoping you would have mentioned the lack tow hooks and the fact that the truck was supposed to be class leading, but fell a bit short. I know they were proud of the leather but fix what is broken first. I understand it takes time to redesign and produce the seat cover, but it is a plastic part! How many years does it take? The old Toyota wouldn't have worried about wasting the already produced parts if they are defective.

I knew the other guy wouldn’t stay in charge long. He totally failed the third gen tundra and sequoia.

I have a ‘22 1794 STD bed. There’s only three things I want: 1) Figure out the wind noise issues at the doors. In mine it’s the driver’s and RR passenger. It’s minor but noticeable. 2) Add tow hooks back and make them available to current owners. 3) Get someone who knows how to code to fix the Entune System and add a flippin’ Home Screen. The OS is open source so there should be at least 3 updates per year.

Tim……. I really appreciate the interview with Jay Sackett. A saw TFL Truck interview Mike Speer (spelling) who lead the design of this newer Toyota truck. I’ve been so impressed with the design team. These men are pickup truck drivers and I’ve been an admirer of Toyota since the 1970’s! I’ve been driving ford’s since 2005, before that it wash Chevy trucks. I personally believe you really can’t loose with any of the manufacturers today. All of the trucks are amazing in comparison to those of the 80’s and 90’s…. I’m seriously considering a Toyota in 2024/2025 just because of the management team. I think they are going to solve a lot of the issues and truly make the Tundra more appealing to folks like myself.

Toyota needs to bring the compact Hilux or possible Stout to US shores. US consumers are clamoring for more entry priced trucks around $30k
  • Cant believe Mike Sweers was promoted, both trucks developed under his leadership, the Tacoma 3rd gen and the new Tundra were disappointing and not better than their previous gen.
  • @billtisdale6122
I’m ready to replace my ‘07 SR5, but not for $80K-$100K
  • @SliderFury1
    Needs a V8, and a payload that's worth a damn.
  • @viewsonvehicles
Jay Sackett is a great guy, offers interesting insights and clearly very knowledgeable. Glad you got him on, Tim!

Who cares about options on your "builder" if you can't get what you want from Toyota. I am 15 months waiting for a 1794 with tow mirrors and TRD off-road package with 6.5 bed. The dealer said "good luck". It's in the damn configurator so I would expect it to be build-able and available. I respect the gentleman's 30 year experience and his contribution to the truck. With that said this entire interview doesnt translate to "listening to the customer" if you cant get what you've ordered. I'm not even jonesing for a 1794 exclusive 1500 units. Most other manufacturers let you order what you want but Toyota's system sucks for the customer.
