Ghost of Tsushima was a 10/10 game for me. It was a really good game.

Max Payne I and II - played them as a teenager and oh boy were those games advanced at the time!

Man... mass effect is just so good. I finished this game 4 months ago but i still can't forget this story, those characters, no game has ever evoked such emotions in me... truly masterpiece

Alien: Isolation. The best game i’ve played. You actually feel like you are inside a space station fighting to survive. Often you also get the feeling that you are in the movie itself. 10/10

Ghost of Tsushima was a 10/10 game for me as well. if you haven't tried it, you will find that it is also a masterclass in game design and story. It also has some of the Shadow of Colossus minimalism that works in its beautiful environment.

I'd pick the Prince of Persia released in 2008, it was completely different from the franchise with an open world and very innovative gameplay mechanic, but what blew my mind was the amazing romantic/tragic story heavily inspired by the zoroastrian belief system. You're left wandering if the game was some kind of fairy tale or a dream.

Dead Space 2 does it all. Gameplay, graphics, story, setting, characters, sound. Most expensive game development of its time. No microtransactions; all access. (Edit: Comments about the first Dead Space game being better are misplaced, as this video isn’t a retrospective of the series. You may as well comment every other game you like more than it, as that makes as much sense as to which games are, or are not, masterpieces)
  • A lot of people citing the bugs of cyberpunk at release are missing the point. If someone will pickup Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty TODAY in its current state, its an 11/10. It definitely belongs here.
  • Freelancer was a 10/10 game for me . Nothing replaced it until now.

As a 42year old, started gaming back in the 90s, I approve of this list. But, there are more games that could be mentioned, like Uncharted series, Horizon Zero dawn (Forbidden west is 8.5 or 9 at best), Heroes of might and magic 3, Dead space and the list goes on and on. Having said that, for me at least, The Witcher 3 holds the #1 spot. The storyline, atmosphere, world itself, music, everything about that game was incredible (rdr2 and plag tale series also leave you with that feeling that you rarely experience in games). Also, take a closer look at some of the numerous Indi games, lots of gems to be found. Rime, for example, if you wanna cry your eyes out (at the end). All in all, not an easy task to put up these kind of a lists, but a job well done.

Really good choices, nice to see Plague Tales getting an acknowledgment as it’s often overlooked.
  • @valburger1
Solid list. I can also add Subnautica, Outer Wilds, The Talos Pronciple, The Soul Reaver series back in the day, Half Life...
  • My respect for ya to include plague tale series, really these games are underrated masterpiece deserves more and more attention! Lovely games❤

Glad you put Shadow of the Colossus, it’s one of my favorites
  • Great list! Each game touches a part of you that you have not experienced in another game and that is why they leave a special spot in you.
  • You're the first guy I have come across to talk about Deus Ex games. They are massively underrated in my opinion, superb story lines and memorable gameplay. Great list!
