In the 1960s and '70s, Sean Connery’s career was defined by his most iconic role, James Bond. Connery was the first actor to embody the British spy and his performance as 007 made the franchise what it is today.

But Connery didn’t stop there. In the ensuing years he shed his 007 persona to portray other characters like William of Baskerville in The Name of the Rose, Henry Jones, Sr. in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and King Arthur in First Knight. Connery also won an Academy Award for portraying Irish-American police officer Jim Malone in The Untouchables. But why has this legendary, award-winning actor practically vanished from Hollywood for good?

I respected Sean Connery and loved his films. Hope he can enjoy his sunset years relaxing. Do not come back to Hollywood which is full of demented and self-centred actors and actresses.

Despite its troubled production, and the 'disagreements' Connery had with director Norrington, I have to admit I really like The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It's a guilty pleasure, and really deserved a sequel.
