  • I took a couple of bags of clothes to the charity shop last week. My husband and I get rid of things regularly, and try to add fewer things to our lives than we take away. So glad he's in agreement with me!

I retired just after the new year after working approx 60 hrs per week for ages. I've been spending a few hours a day, decluttering different areas & categories of decades of accumulation 📦. Also playing catch-up on cleaning & maintenance, evaluating my expenses and planning for a fun retirement. I'm kind of resetting the rest of my life and even tho it is sometimes overwhelming, I am excited about the benefits!
  • A water pipe on the second floor of our house burst last month. We had a power outage and the pipe froze in the cold. My house is a mess as repairs are moving at a snail’s pace. Luckily, we didn’t lose anything sentimental. I am using this as an opportunity to look at everything we had to move out of the way to decide if I want to put it back when this is all over. Am finding lots of things we forgot we even owned. Finding a silver lining….
  • It’s obvious you have been doing consistent decluttering and your work has paid off so much. I wish I could declutter in 4 days. It’s a great goal to set. I do have 2 teens and am much older- having accumulated a lot over the years. I never seem to get rid of enough! But if one starts young then decluttering will always be easy as one doesn’t accumulate as much in the first place. Your advice is always very practical and it’s a pleasure to watch your journey.
  • I love the idea of putting clothes away that are not appropriate for the season! I use to think its was "non-minamilistic" to even have enough clothes to put away each season in storage, but it's smart. Because when you do pull those clothes out again, you'll have a fresh feeling wardrobe!

My family and I are moving this spring into a new apartment so I’m going to take the next few months and really go through everything. We are going to have a clean slate. New place, new jobs so we want to only bring things that we love and that are functional. 📦 😊

I don't know if this is just me but while everyone else is decluttering and using the new year to 'restart', I tend to become overwhelmed. As a student, the new year is a rather busy time as I'm just getting back into my groove after the holidays (which tends to take longer than it should). This is why I tend to prefer the transition between winter and spring over the new year, to take the time to reset. During this time, I am finishing up with school (in my final year of uni!). And you bet I'll be re-watching this video when that time comes! Thanks for the information, even though I will apply it down the road of 2023.
  • I dropped off a couple large shopping bags to a donation bin last week and 3 days ago, I saw a friend wearing their new outfit of the clothes I donated. She looked awesome and I was happy to see the clothes being utilized better than I was able to do. My next challenge is to declutter my basement to make some sort of rec room space for the teenagers that regularly occupy my living room.

I love a good reset day! I try to do a mini rest every Sunday where I do laundry, cleaning, etc. so that it gets me prepped for the week ahead and keeps things more manageable for when I do a big deep clean/declutter. Also, I have this weird thing where I also do a mini self-care every week after my mini declutter where I do a facemask, shave my legs, wash my hair (bc yes, I'm that weird person who has a hair washing schedule lol), etc. It's so satisfying to get into clean sheets, when you're clean, and stare into a clean room at the end of the day haha 😅

I had an Instant Pot that I hadn’t used in a couple years either. I pulled it out over winter break and as a last ditch effort before donating cooked a meal in it. Fast forward a month and I use it once or twice a week now. The trick is a good recipe book. I like Skinny Taste one & done and The Ultimate IP Cookbook by Coco Morante. Just made chicken tortilla soup last night in it and so good.

I took a couple of days to declutter my whole life and become a minimalist. 6 days to be precisely. I also call it reseting my life, but on a different aspect. I feel identified with this video!
  • @annoinas8230
Started decluttering my closet📦📦📦and kitchen📦 in december. Then I suddenly felt the urge to do a no buy year, just like that😅man, am I glad I hadn’t donated all of my decluttered clothes yet, they are still in storage😆
  • I started decluttering the end of December.. I love doing this. It's such a great feeling. I feel like I can breathe afterwards and it's so nice to see everything in my closet and only see things I love and want.. now, onto the kitchen cabinets.. I don't like this area so much🥴
  • @maytay8461
