Nice car. Strongly considered this but the haptics dissuaded me. I hear they are changing some of that for next years model though.

Manual GTI is a car that you have to try out in your life when you love a good hot hatch 👌

the most horrible climate controls i've ever seen

The MK7.5 GTI remains the better lookng GTI. The MK8 is a design and ergonomic mess. Waiting for the MK9 to see what direction Volkswagen takes.

I have this car, about 3k miles on it. I don't really like it much at all. The suspension is wallowy and floaty. The gearing is all wrong - way too tall and it robs the engine of power. The shifter sucks, it's made of plastic and literally broke apart one day and stabbed me in the hand. There was blood. It isn't fun enough, isn't comfortable enough. And I'm a huge hot hatch fan. I've owned several of them. This car is a pawn of all trades, master of none. At $35k for a new one, I'd avoid it honestly. And you can't call me a troll or a hater because I paid damn good money for this car in my driveway. It's a disappointment, plain and simple. Either get the DSG, or just get something else. I'm done.
