Dante vs Vergil.

Vergil's Motive

Dante's older twin brother. In contrast to Dante, he is the type who dislikes a commotion. He seeks power as a demon successor to Sparda, and plots to open the gate to the demon world with Arkham. However, Vergil is also a successor to Sparda's bloodline. Certainly, it is not the case that he desires demonic power in order to invade the human world - his desire for power comes from a genuine feeling of wanting to become stronger. As a result he is used by Arkham, and he alone falls into the demon world, where he challenges Mundus to battle, but is defeated.

"Father? I don't have a father. I just don't like you, that's all" is the most Dante thing Dante has ever said
  • @Rexog90
I like how Vergil plays along with Dante without losing his composure.
  • @BlackSkullArmor
The spinning sword trick of Vergil's to deflect bullets, just pure awesome
  • I love how Dante references this moment in DMC5 by telling the hawk "it's been a bash".
  • @Jgt612
It would have been so easy to make Vergil a no nonsense dude who was dull as dishwater but he actually plays off Dante, entertaining his nonsense about the “party” without missing a beat. You love to see it

5:57 What an attention to detail, making the tongue actually move as Vergil speaks.
  • 3:13 The exact moment Vergil's hair changes and it's identical to Dante's, I love the detail that his hair changes during the fight and not in the cutscene after it.
  • @kin4386
I love how when Virgil's hair is down, he looks EXACTLY like Dante.

0:37 I cant help watching this scene, the way he turns his back on Dante and silently stands under the rain and the moonlight. Vergil is crazily badass.

I still lose my shit when  that whale just randomly eats him

1:32 the coolest fucking transition from cutscene to gameplay
  • @enyceiceberg
Dante😁: So this is what they call a heart warming family reuion Virgil😠: You got that right

Out of all of their fights (DmC and DMC 5 included) their fights in 3 are the best imo. Has the most build up and the best story telling. Legendary game, still the best in the series.
  • Still my favorite of the series. Vergil felt like that villain you loved and hated at the same time, just like Sephiroth.
  • DMC3 is, far and away, the best hack and slash ever made. Usually, H&S games have a crappy story with flashy gameplay. Playing through DMC3 felt like an epic adventure- traversing through the various levels of Temen Ni Gru felt like something out of Dante's Inferno. And it has swordplay that aged gracefully. I played it so many times that I still remembrr most of the combos. Absolute masterpiece

"You got that right" Seriously, that line always gets me in fangirl mode
  • Ive said it before Ill say it again, the cinematography on this whole shindig is legitimately fan-fucking-tastic. The pan from vergil's face to his sword, the way the cam is shaky when looking at dante as he DT's for the first time, only to have a steady pan when he collapses, the shot composition when the both of them are in frame. Its all so fucking good.

Man, even though this is an epic battle between two unbelievably powerful demons, If you take away all the flashy moves, it's just two teenage brats fighting because they don't see eye to eye. Edit: Re-watching this, it's almost like two kids who don't know how to talk to each other so they just end up fighting.
