As an Enterprise employee I would like to say, just because you see a bunch of cars on our lots doesn't mean all of them are rentable. I'm looking at close 25 right now that are sitting here needing a recall done. We also have a few that we are waiting on an outside detailer to come clean. There's some that the tag has expired and we are waiting on it to arrive. We have some that have damage. Then there are ones that need routine maintenance. So every car you see isn't necessarily rentable.

The Alabama Hammer will always be my "must make" event. Such a great group of people

Man drives Jeep Wrangler and complains that a rental looks like a box,LOL
  • Great story! So fun to have a couple of cameos as well. Greatly looking forward to this year's Hammer!

Did the Southern Classic this year, doing another TDS in October- which is an inaugural event. Maybe next year I'll do the Alabama Hammer in the venerable Valiant

This man needs to discover Turo. Why rent a Kia when you can get an AMG or Porsche cheaper?

This is such a fun event! Every year new people come out and enjoy the sites of our beautiful state. And to top it all off, it generates donations for a local autism & children’s therapy center. And like all great events, the real prize at the end is the story and the friendships you make. That, and an MC Hammer doll 🤣

Being from North Alabama you pretty much do most of the Alabama Hammer but backwards to get to the beach. Grew up doing once a year or every few years hahaha nice to see it’s a real event!

Hey Chris, we should compare notes. I’m pretty sure we ran different waypoints in AH3 compared to AH4. No big deal though, we can settle this in a few weeks 🙂

Just be glad you were first to launch…we encountered 18 accidents on the Hammer last year and only made up time by taking highways! Great story though and hope to see you on this years!

    Gotta love a VinWiki story.
  • Curious which Hammer rout you did being that each year is different with different stops and different miles. It's hard to say fastest time when each year is a separate challenge. Your time was awesome however, and I commend your amazing skills and efforts.

Fun fact most new cars have something similar to a Blackbox on an airplane that stores your driving style and sells it to insurance companies making your coverage cost more.

I don’t care what I happen to be driving on the interstate, at some point while I’m rolling along, I will move over to let a Nissan verza go scooting by. Out of nowhere, I look in my mirror and somebody will have one of those little cars wound tighter than a corkscrew and passing a line of cars. Haha

I want to know how to find event info for the next Alabama Hammer.. I have searched and searched and the closest I get is a drag racing team or a big buck hunting competition.
