Never ever pause during the drum drop. Ever. It’s sacrilegious…
  • @jayjayjase9796
If you werent alive in the 80s you have no idea how big he was
  • @tonidarcy5515
Omg, you never stop in the middle of his drum solo!!!!
  • @nightHawk66
That bearded bassplayer is the coolest cat ever! Leland Sklar has played on more than 2500 records! He also has his own YT-channel with some amazing stories and bassplaying.

I am 77y.o. and I flew from Indiana to France for this concert. Over 100,000 in attendance! This was when Music WAS Music!!
  • @carriemilito2851
Why would you interrupt Phil when he's in the zone?! This is such an iconic performance.
  • @carolmorgan6734
The song, 1981, live performance 2004. I have thanked God for Phil for 47 years of my life. I'm 70.
  • This was Phil's farewell tour. I saw him in an interview, many years ago & the reporter asked him how it felt to be a singer who could 'drum a bit'? Phil's response was., I always considered myself a drummer, who could 'sing a bit'. LOL This is a legendary performance'

NEVER....EVER....INTERRUPT PHIL COLLINS... WHEN HE IS ON THE DRUMS.... NEVER..... EVER!!
  • @russelldye3751
Phil Collins is the ultimate musician! He is known for his drums but play multiple musical instruments and has albums where he plays all of them! He is pretty accomplished on keyboards too!
  • @user-jk6bu3hd2k
You did not mention that he could drum while singing and drumming is so physical for the whole body. I have watched vocal coaches reviewing this performance and they can not believe he is drumming and singing and there is no trace of the physical effort the drumming puts on his body in his voice. He also plays the piano very well and some of his videos are of him sitting at the piano while singing. Sadly he can't drum anymore due to his physical health so his last few concerts have involved him sitting in a chair on stage singing.

Phil Collins....musical genius and gift to us all.
  • @carolmorgan6734
Hate to tell you guys, But the 80's was the decade for genius, did you miss it? Your loss, but what you have waiting for you is pure GOLD. I envy you.
  • I remember hearing this song in the early 80’s. I use to sleep in my grandparents backyard and I loved 🥰 when this song came on. It was always an unreal experience even though I was an adolescent then. I am still impressed and overwhelmed when I review this ultimate classic again. Thank you for taking the time to react to LEGENDARY PHIL COLLINS. 🙆🏻‍♀️🎼🤍🙌🏽
  • @narellesmith7932
Still gives me goosebumps. Saw him live I think 3 or 4 drum sets on stage 🎉🎉
  • The lead guitar is Daryl Stuermer, & the 'second' drummer is Chester Thompson, both long time members of Genesis touring bands, after genesis became effectively a three piece, with a singing /frontman drummer.
  • @V12BenzAMG
I saw this same performance in Florida on his First Final Farewell Tour and the entire concert was amazing...check out more from this concert... he ran around on stage, danced, sang (perfectly) and never seemed to get tired..so glad i can say i saw this live
  • @4potslite169
Can you imagine being there and seeing the drum set rise up through the stage???? Jesus!
