-I got a circular saw, I needed to use the circular saw
-Maybe the height of summer is not a great time to try putting out a bird feeder
-Our yard is... thriving
-Watch as my allergies slowly destroy my voice throughout the week this project took
-That definitely has nothing to do with letting our yard grow out of control
-The bugs are really happy though
-And they're growing very, very... very very big
-We literally have to wear ear protection around those cicadas

Bird. Cats. Cicadas. Gecko. I love how this had gradually turned into animal channel.

Just a hint... the small birds like sparrows prefer to forage on the ground, as do pigeons, if you have those visiting. I've had a bird feeder for many years and we put paving slabs beneath, so the seed spills onto those and less onto the ground where it will germinate and give you a jungle. The birds will eat the spillage but rain does what water always does, causes seeds to grow. No matter what type of bird feeder you have seed will end up underneath. Yours is pretty darn clever and ingenious though, so congratulations! Well done! 😊👍😘🤗💖
  • Okay but Rachel holding up a large, hand-held circular saw with a gleefull "This was my birthday present!" is SUCH a mood.

Honestly, Rachel and Jun are living the stardew valley/animal crossing lifestyle and I’m very happy for them. I hope one day I get to live like them too.

07.46 You CANNOT stop Poki. Your puny human hands won‘t hold him for long!!
  • @jeffreythree
A few tips: watch out wearing gloves around circular saw blades since they can pull your hand into the blade, and when you drill a hole stop when the point just starts to go though and finish drilling from the other side to make a clean hole.

I died at how poki gave the donuts his death stare after Rachel stopped him from eating them💀💀
  • 1:27 Rachel: Which part of chomping on wood is enjoyable? Haku: The chomping on wood part.
  • Poki glaring at the treat he can't have is hilarious. He may be better behaved, but he will always be a food goblin and we love him for it.
  • @dems1978
Rachel has golden hands, really. The place, the cats, the nature, the people and wildlife - immaculate vibes
  • @emilklink9440
Consider getting a birdbath in the garden if you want more birds around, also is great for many other animals
  • "Attract birds. Don't scare them away because you're shiny. Attract...birds..." I feel this on a cellular level, Rachel.
  • @recycledMilk
hi there <3 its recommended to clean bird feeders every two weeks since they can be a hot spot for spreading desease among all types of birds! with just a little bit of maintainance every few weeks, you can bring a ton of happy healthy birds to your feeder every day :) they remember safe feeding spots and bring you a lot of joy!
  • This is the kind of life I want to achieve. You guys are an inspiration for me to work hard! 💪🏼
  • @Pharphette
Jun just has to buy Rachel a tool or bit every holiday and he’ll never run out of gift ideas.
  • @NaraeLee1700
just a tip for the saw: when you measure out stuff, cut on the OUTSIDE of the pencil mark cause the blade thickness causes your measurements to be smaller than you actually want it (which might be why the triangles were smaller than you wanted)
  • obsessed with how this has become a channel where we just watch Rachel do DIY and the cats playing around
