Monkey Man (Movie Review) | D. Movieman's Take 6 | MOVE OVER, JOHN WICK!!!

Published 2024-04-07
My introduction to Take 6 begins with a very timely Monkey Man review! In my review for the long-awaited "Monkey Man," I'll expediently share my thoughts on Dev Patel's journey from actor to his debut as a feature film director.

I'll also share my thoughts on the stunning filming locations, as well as the brutal and intensely choreographed fighting sequences. Lastly, I'll delve into the few issues I had with the film that detracted from my overall experience. Let's get into it!!

i am a peace, love and joy type of woman, so glorified violence never has done anything for me, but as usual, love hearing your take on things.💗💗💗

I’ve been hearing such hot and cold reviews for this one. I’ll definitely check it out but I think I’ll wait on streaming.
  • @DidYouZThat
I am LOVING this new format and I think it’s a fantastic idea 🙂
I think the camerawork and lack of character development let the movie down for me
  • This one definitely looks interesting. Hopefully I'll have a good time 🦊👍
I also love supporting some first time actor/directors.
Especially with how much I liked Dev in The Green Knight

I can't wait to see this movie. I'm definitely here for the violence and the fights 😂🤣
  • Yeah I enjoyed this one as well, but I am with you on camera work and story elements not fully hitting me like I feel it should have. Either one this is one to see on the big screen thanks to Jordan Peele. - Kevin

Im no doubt checking this out being a huge john wick fan. Ive heard mixed things and as much as im nervous on the shakey cam, i feel ill have more positives than negatives.

Great review, brotha! I loved the action for this one, but I wish I loved the story more.

Yeah the camerawork is a turn off for me but, I did like its style however, expectations will play a major factor. If you go in thinking non stop action John Wick you’ll be disappointed. It was fine for a one time watch but, I don’t see myself revisiting.
  • The movie was pretty good. I enjoyed it considered the shaky camera and weird camera angle in some scene. The storyline was perfect. Once you get a good storyline with the type of characters and the budget, I call it a good movie. Which has been a rarity this year so far when it comes to movies. How are you doing and how your weekend?
