Today I tried out a reverse coloring book! I've never seen anything like this before but I was shocked at how fun it was! You basically draw the lines yourself, it's very creative and a unique spin on traditional coloring books and pages. This reverse coloring book totally sold out last I checked but it is still available to buy for a later ship date! This is one of amazons best selling books ever (in the top 600 books right now) and is so unique.

I'm a teacher and this looks ike a really great alternative for traumatised kids to doodle in when they are having anxiety at school. Thank you for introducing this product! I hope you do indeed release a Chloe Rose version!
  • @SoCraftastic
It's so cool to see how different your first page turned out from mine! I love the variation of line thickness as well as how flowy you are with the pen strokes. I saw an iguana with its nose pointing up in place of where your adorable goldfish was drawn. The Simpson's character haha I'm glad you tried this!!
  • I think this concept could become the basis of a really fun art collaboration with friends. Get someone to paint or color a page, then swap and add lines to complete the work.
  • @MandyRosko
This book seems to be like those ink blobs therapists make you look at. Everyone sees something different. Only with all the color you end up drawing what you see so it can be fascinating that everyone can come up with different things :)
  • @Alexis-jr7jc
There are artists who are afraid to outline (ink) their art and there are artists who are afraid to color their art. I'm both lol so this is pretty awesome. You could have this book and a regular coloring book to practice getting comfortable with lining and comfortable with use of color. Very cool product and I LOVE seeing you use different things and get out of your comfort zone! I also LOVE when you're in your comfort zone because you make really amazing pieces of art. 😁
  • Is the audio weird for everyone else? Like the music cutting out and getting really quiet at random points?
  • @its_ah_duck
I feel like this would be a good activity for someone who has art block. Like there is no stress to make something perfect. You just get to interpret shapes and make some fun outlines
  • @avanguline
I really like this. My non-artistic self would definitely stress over it but I'm still tempted.... I love that you can easily tear them out as well. Means you technically can scan the pages too if you wanted to print out more of the same design, either for a group activity, or to practice on, or even do different things with the same design!. I may have to check this out once it's available again...
  • You should definitely finish this book and make it a series - The first page gave me Wonderland vibes, kind of like the flowers in the Golden Afternoon scene with the Lion as the Dandelion. So pretty!
  • For the goldfish page I instantly saw 2 different scenes simultaneously, one of them was basically what you ended up drawing. The other scene was a cluster of volcanoes erupting where the blue was the sky, red/orange/yellow was lava, brown was the volcano/mountain, green was a jungle in the foreground, and pink was either fires or buildings (hadn't figured out pink entirely yet after only seeing it for like 3 seconds).
  • I'd never heard of these books, but SO want one now :-) I'm almost 60 years old, and sit down to colour books in with my friend's children, colouring outside the lines in excitement, and having fun while my friends just stand there, shaking their heads at me :-D I love being in touch with my inner child, and so am definitely going to get some of these books for myself now :-) thank you for bringing these wonderful books to the public eye :-)
  • Love that this concept can be adapted to anything! It's almost an expansion of the art prompt of drawing blobs and creating characters out of them, but in this case starting from a more colorful composition. There was clearly an intent with some of the pieces, and not with others, really lending to the creativity of the line artist. Very cool. :)

I used to do this kind of thing a fair bit a few years ago. I used watercolour paper, a spray bottle of water, and pigment powders to make random colour fields. I would do a bunch all at once, and then gradually work through them. TBH, I turned a lot of them into faces. LOL
  • @DestinyR7
For my final year in college I had several works of art where I basically took rubbings of concrete and traced around the dark spots on the paper with black ink. They looked like black and white maps. Super fun!

I got this book and I love it myself but I'm also doing a few pages with my 3 year old granddaughter to help nurture her imagenation. It's similar to spotting what clouds look like but as I'm house bound with a disability it's an easier activity to be able to do indoors
  • Goldfish is instantly what I saw. Your first fish turned out so cute! You definitely have to turn it into a new character to draw! I also saw an upside down jellyfish so you have to make it that!

Hi Chloe ! Loves the video and honestly loved this concept for a book, it seems way more appealing than a regular coloring book to me at least ! Just wanted to point out that from 8:55 to 11:03 there is no voiceover, just music or silence, and I'm not sure it was intentional giving the editing during that part, it looked like your voice was initially there but got deleted somehow ? Just thought I would let you know ! Great work anyway, can't wait for the next one !
  • @TinedRapier5
Who else agrees Chole is chaotic artist but organised and it draws you in 😂😂❤✨
  • @beckybanta126
Hi Chloe! I didn't want you to stop creating. Yes, please, continue with this area of art, mingled in with all the other talents you have! TU! 😊
