I do all my primary gaming on a PC in a living room home theater environment with a "console-ized" gaming PC now running a 4090 GPU. In this video, I go over some of the keys I make the PC work and avoid the frustrations that can come with using a PC away from a desk or office.

Gaming at a desk is depressing. Gaming on a couch is aesthetic and cozy, nostalgic.

I still wish Valve made a proper Steam Machine, which would work exactly like a console (plug and play).
  • Thanks for sharing. I’ve switched from pc to series X when it launched because sitting in the corner of my room away from everyone got depressing. I game from a couch in my bedroom with the lights on now and it’s very refreshing. I’ve now wanted to switch back to pc for the modding aspect of games as I’ve missed that part. So now here I am building a computer for the living room & my bedroom. I will have to keep that wireless startup remote in mind for when I build it.

Excellent video. I've been thinking of moving my gaming PC into my living room to play just like you. Thank you for making this.

I do love that custom grid art is easier now with this version of big picture. It used to require changing the games icon itself which looked stupid outside of big picture.

Great tips, I've been a PC couch gamer since... tonight! Haha, I needed some tips on how I could play comfortably in my recliner versus this moving the office chair into the living room and playing extremely close to the TV crap, so thank you for this. After experiencing most of Bethesda's games on the couch, playing them at a desk just doesn't feel right, so now I'm looking forward to beating Starfield
  • @presramh
Absolutely love this idea! Gaming pc with TV and Steam UI. No need to buy a console. Gonna do this setup at my place one day. Just need a Mini-ITX gaming PC.
  • @aflores278832
Dude. This is exactly what I am building right now. I game on my couch and want the best experience possible. Good to see I'm not the only one. 🤟
  • @hesham8
Neat. I’m building a mini ITX next weekend and booting into steam deck ui would be ideal.

I love this concept. I currently have the Steam Deck and will be using it in a similar fashion, however I can definitely see the advantage to using a more powerful PC.
  • @CutlerVisual
Great video! I've done the same but also downloaded a bluetooth mouse/keyboard app on my phone so can control my pc that way if I need to
  • @Luscombag
I've been looking for something like this for years. I didn't know this existed, that's the main reason why I'm still on console. Not in the Steam ecosystem, but I may have to join.
  • It's a dream of mine to build and sell "console killer" PCs that behave exactly like this. A console experience on PC hardware. But I'm worried about whether or not there's enough of a market for that. Guess I could always build just one and see if I get any buyers. I will definitely be following more of your videos to make it happen!

I just finished setting up Steam BPM myself last night and I just stumbled onto your video today. Our setups are virtually exactly the same except for the neat power kill switch I had no idea you could get. I also use Steam Link app to stream games to other rooms in my house. Great job on the living room "console" setup! Do you have any tips on how to keep the Windows install lean?
  • @hagaming2609
I have done the same thing, except I use a linux based OS called Chimera Os. Boots straight into Gamepad ui ( Steam ) Plays all my steam library no issues all controller based. PC gaming is great in this way, makes it just like a console. The Chimera OS updates all the system drivers in the background for you as well.

Hey love the setup I'm building one myself, only suggestion would be that you should try WOL It wouldnt require any program on your pc only an app on your phone and you can set it up in 30 seconds And also try remote mouse to to navigate the pc from your phone or buy any 2.4g remote that supports air mouse and keyboard on the back (ofc if the pc is in same room) Great stuff would love to see an updated video or getting into depth with this setup
