I would 100% agree with Lorne. I thought it was so fucking hilarious every time Bill would crack himself up or someone else did it to him. It really made the show just that much better. Bill is soooo fucking funny.

Bill Hader has to be one the best talents SNL has ever had.

The fact that it is honest and they are actually trying as hard as they can to keep from breaking makes it a wonderful way to break the fourth wall and give the audience a sense of being included in the joke. If someone tried to manufacture that energy, it would be appalling.

Bill's small little giggle when Fred asks if the play was over was perfect. Honestly, I thought that was part of the skit because it was so ridiculous that a normal person would have to laugh in that situation.
