Lightsabers and their variants have to be some of the coolest fictional weapons imaginable
-
Dual-phase Splitsaber with Shoto and Crossguard modes. Cal got himself one of the most practical sabers in Star Wars.
-
Crossguard lightsabers would be functionally better if the cross guard was made of a lightsaber resistant material instead of plasma. That way it can protect the user's hand without endangering further hence defeating its purpose Edit: *sigh*… yes like beskar. You don’t need to mention it

13:12 Well, if we’re going there I’d say my favorite lightsaber is the one from the Phineas & Ferb Star Wars episode where they heavily mod their lightsabers to an entertaining degree.
-
One variant wasn't mentioned: the Long-handle Lightsaber. Meant to resemble long-handle swords like the nagamaki, pudao, and the swordstaff of different ancient cultures, this lightsaber variant provides more leverage and handling than standards lightsaber. It can be used both as a sword and staff during combat. Darth Chratis, Darth Nihl, and Zao are among those who have used this variant. Hell, I have mine in a yellow blade made by Ultrasabers and brought it to a ComiCon in Indy earlier this year, and I love it! The people at Ultrasabers were there and were kind enough to upgrade my baby with newer parts!

I've got two that you missed. The Death Star could be seen as a sort of over powered Lightsaber Rifle as it used Kyber crystals to power it's laser. And the "Contained Energy Axe" was a lightsaber axe.

Forgot the ones only seen in the Phineas and Ferb star wars crossover episode

12:59 Golden rays of the glorious sunshine Sending down such a blood-red light

By far my favorite Saber design was Asajj Ventress' curved hilt that joined into a Saber staff

I’m interested in hearing more about things such as vibroblades, in relation to how they differ & resemble a standard saber. Also, more about whips. This was interesting and at parts, funny. (That bit at the end with the Lego Maul octosaber!) Thank you

The Darksaber's creator wasn't the ONLY Mandalorian Jedi, he was the FIRST.
-
I think the coolest lightsaber variant is the light saber nunchaku, which was wielded by Ventress in the DLC for the classic Star Wars: Battlefront 2. However, I would choose the hinged double-bladed lightsaber like the Temple Guards.
-
I’d use a standard double blade lightsaber, with a yellow crystal. Simple, but effective
-
The telescoping lightsaber pike from the Knights of the Eternal Throne trailer is the variant that I'd love to see brought into canon. It can be used as a normal lightsaber, or you can extend the handle for extra reach.
-
You forgot the war dragon rider lightsaber. It's a saberstaff, but has a small blade in between the ends, for a total of three blades.
-
(uses a Light Parasol) I'M MARY POPPINS, Y'ALL!!!😆😆😆
-
The gauntlet one that was gonna be wielded by plo would have been awesome to see
-
Split saber, green crystal. I love the idea of Jedi consulars and the split saber is just so efficient.

Crossguard lightsabers were a mistake, unless the emitters are made of something lightsaber resistant. It doesn't accomplish the function of a crossguard. In all other lightsabers, the emitter is a weakness. You slash it, the blade goes out. Kylo Ren's actually makes sense. It's making up for other faulty characteristics. Other than that, it comes off too much as someone just thinking it would look cool.

You forgot the best one, the schwartz blade.
