I rescue them from the roadways here in Florida. Sometimes they cannot climb the curb on the roadside and get hit by a car or overcome by the heat. Always makes me happy to see them swim away!

I rescued a painted turtle who was trying to cross north Avenue in the Chicagoland area. He got clipped by a car but was ok. I dropped off at the forest preserve and he was happy to go into the river
