Some of the biggest names in basketball went head-to-head in the first round between the Dallas Mavericks and LA Clippers. Luka Dončić. James Harden. Kyrie Irving. Paul George. Kawhi Leonard. Russell Westbrook. But while the Mavs' 4-2 series victory was thanks in large part due to Luka and Kyrie's scoring brilliance, it was a true team effort. Derrick Jones Jr. played stifling defense on the perimeter. P.J. Washington Jr. stood on business. And Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II were big on both ends of the floor. In a series full of superstars, the Mavs' supporting players starred in their roles and helped lead the team to its first series win since 2022. Next stop: the second round against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

    As a Laker fan, I have the Mavericks winning it all. Specially seeing Kyrie be a true leader in this team. Luka is the head of the pack but Kai is their heart and soul. He guides these guys to understand what it takes to win because he's been to many Finals appearance earlier in his career. Also wanting him to win his 2nd ring after all the drama he's been before signing in Dallas. It's gonna be a redemption for him and prove the doubters wrong that Ky and Luka won't work. Love seeing Kyrie's maturity as a leader.
