As I get older, finding time to game is becoming harder and harder. That is until I picked up a Steam Deck.

Instead of doing a tech review, I thought I'd create a video detailing why the Steam Deck is perfect for me, and how it's enabled me to find time for gaming that I couldn't find before. If you're in a similar situation, you may find this video helpful.

Let me know what you think in the comments!

(Oh yeah, this was my first time filming something like this, so please don't be mean about the reflections. I tried many positions to get it right but I clearly failed).

So this video has reached 10,000 views, and for being such a small channel, this is such a massive achievement for me. I never expected it to perform so well and receive so much positive feedback. Thank you so much to everyone who has watched it - it means so much to me ❤️

Bloodborne on the toilet sounds like a medical problem you should get checked out

33 years old husband, 4 children. Between work and family , i m too lazy to sit behind my pc anymore, handheld are made for dad chilling on the sofa or bed after a hard day!

49 here, been working from home for 16 years, got a killer gaming PC in my office and... don't use it half as much as I should. Some of my days end up being 12 to 16 hours, so the last thing I want to do is sit in here gaming. However, my OLED Steam Deck is a different matter altogether. Living room whilst having something on TV I don't need to concentrate on that much, the garden when it's not pissing down (UK here lol), even a pub / bar at times if I've gone to one on my own just to get out of the house. And of course travelling. the deck has been an absolute game changer for sitting in airports, on 8 hour flights, on 2 hour train journeys... I almost look forward to that down time now!
  • The part about having a reluctance to game on PC due to associating it with work is something i experience too. Wondeful video and very relatable points about the steamdeck for a common man gamer. Subbed man.

You opened my mind right now. I also work from home, and my work usually takes longer. After a long day, I don't feel like playing games at the desk I'm working at. Lately, I've started playing games mostly by lying/napping in the living room with my Nintendo Switch. I never thought that the reason for this was that the place where you work and where you play are the same, thank you. Now the only thing left is to find a Steamdeck :) Thank you very much for the video.
  • The Quick Resume or Rest Mode is truly a blessing without it i would not finish so many Games i want to play. Its just instantly in the Game and Play and Pause for something else then repeat.

I can’t stress enough how much I love the Steam deck. I too work from home and spend 8 hours at my desk. I also have a gaming PC at my desk but like you that’s the last place I want to be after 8 hours of being there. Great video! I am a huge advocate for the Steam deck for the exact same reasons you mentioned.

42 yo dad of 3 kids here, management job in IT so I am eyeballing the Steam Deck (i am into Cyberpunk after a longer hiatus from gaming - other than Mario Kart with my boys) so this video is spot on for me! Definitely getting an OLED model after watching your comments and thoughts on time constrictions. Thanks! Good luck with the channel.

I'm in exactly the same boat. I bought my Deck only a couple of months ago and love it so far. I've always been a console gamer so it's nice having the perks and benefits of PC games delivered in a form factor, with a UI that clicks with me. It's like a portable PS4 but with all the back-end tinkering of a PC. I've got a few emulators, and fan developed mod games games up and running on there and it feels great having a "console" with so much freedom.
  • This is incredible! I wish I had watched this video before, I’ve just purchased my Steam Deck 3 days ago and I’m mesmerised! I am a teacher so I have tons of work at home and at school so I have the same issue with my PC and all regarding my desk, so this is such a nice way to have fun and have 0 relationship with work! The same happens with me, reading for school and college makes me avoid reading for pleasure sometimes. Although I like my Steam games, I bought because of emulation and oh golly, best purchase ever!!! If you love emulation, go for it! Best option! ❤
  • With family and life commitments it's great to read about people in similar scenarios. I'm no longer a console owner (apart from old consoles in the attic) but this seems like an incredible bit of kit. I have a switch but despise paying the switch tax for half the titles. I paid like £3 for celest when I owned a ps5 and Nintendo want £17.99! Steam seem so well priced for people who truly love games. Emulation is also a huge bonus!

Love this so much, I work from home and have a gaming PC as well and I didn’t want to sit in the same spot that I work in after a full days work shift. It’s just so mentally draining. So happy I got my Steam Deck and able to play all these emulator games without buying a janky emulator.
  • @Nolgore
I'm in the exact same situation regarding my office / PC desk setup. That really hit home. Definitely helps to solidify that a steam deck will be a great addition to my gaming life as a PS5/Switch/PC owner.
  • As a work from homer, everything said between 2:00 and 3:00 is exactly how I feel. I almost never game on my pc during the week, unless its in the morning before work. The mental block from sitting at the desk any longer than I have to is real.
  • @charlessewell
Getting a Steam Deck really got me back into PC gaming after moving to Xbox for a few years. Valve really struck gold here.
  • @RizalBoon
For me, I do a bit of workaround making a remote gaming PC and connect to it using Parsec and Moonlight from my (phone+gamepad) combo. I really love this setup and will keep using it for a long time.

Bro I have been out of the gaming world for 10 years and as soon as I got my Steam Deck oled, my gaming life has revived again ! Coming from someone who has his own shop to run I’m glad I picked this over a gaming laptop. It’s just too convenient! This video sums it all!
  • @ljday27
I just subscribed. I really enjoyed how you just gave an opinion on a product and explained why. So many videos just tell me the specs and other stuff I can read about!
