To me I always just thought that like Cell, Vegeta, Gohan, and Goku, the reason why they keep delaying the battles instead of ending them if they have the power to do so is due to their inherent genes as saiyans. Warriors who are usually prideful in showing off their strength to their opponents for the sake of their love for fighting.

Which is ultimately their downfall as it leaves opportunity for others to exploit. It happened when Cell convinced SSJG2 Vegeta to allow him to absorb 18 to provide a new challenge and test his strength. It happened when SSJ2 Teen Gohan took his time making Cell suffer instead of ending it quickly. It happened when Goku gave Cell a senzu bean under the mistaken belief that his son enjoys fighting just like him. It happened with Cell when he hosted the tournament instead of killing everyone right now before giving them 10-days to train (because of those same Saiyan genes he’s inherited when he was created). It happened with Cell when he allowed Vegeta to charge up his Final Flash. It happened when they didn’t kill Dr. Gero before he built the androids.

It’s not unique for saiyans to be prideful to the point where they delay fights instead of ending them if they can, but it sure is common if not also a cultural thing in their race. Future Trunks is the exception to this rule because he’s seen what happens when you don’t have the power to stop horrific forces from happening if they are stronger than you. Which is why if he knows he has the strength to end it he will with no exceptions. Krillin was also an exception but made a different mistake not out of pride but because he was a simp.

Cell saga is THEE best db arcs there’s no debate, the mistakes make the arc
  • I love you genuine friend genuinely understand racquetball and genuinely understand character flaws and strengths within said characters.

I just wanted to make this point, Goku is a pure hearted fighter. He was not wrong in giving Cell a Senzu bean. Call Cooper’s wrong in the assessment of his son, but he was not wrong to hide the truth from your son and everybody else.

A test come from not know he was going to take place, but just going through it and doing your best. This is the test of life. Imagine of Goku told Gohan ahead of time and then he began to be experience fear. We see earlier in this park that go hard police himself to be inferior, and has doubts in fears. Goku may not have known his son as well as pickle love you. But he still understood his son to a degree.

The reason why it is foolish for anything to ever try again are you that broke who is mom, is because everything Goku’s said came to pass all his predictions. Goku in totality is right. Because Gohan won. That’s the point.

Goku was the only character, the only Z fighter, who had absolute faith trust and believe in his own son. Piccolo had no faith, none. Goku had 100% faith. This will be identical to imagining whoever your father is the person reading this comment right now and it was something you really wanted to do and your father gave you all the trust all the believe all the hope all the praise and all of his love into you to succeed with whatever it is you wanted to do. Just imagine that one month. That’s Goku in this moment where is Goku throughout this art. He realizes his home so I was Peter potential I could cc on nothing outside before this moment for this part. That is why no fans have ever in the right or left brain say that Goku was wrong, because Goku proved was proven specifically to be right.
  • 2:21 that's so funny to think about

Yo I legit watched it the first time September 2023, that shit was crazy lit. Best arc. No denying. Suspense, thrill, horror, good combat, iconic lines and moments locations and music.

Above all, there was a distinct sense of “ we are so Totally f**ked “. No other arc has that urgency.

In the kinda defense for krillin there was NO WAY he didn’t sense vegeta and trunks which probably could’ve also encouraged him to not do it. And considering he had seen the androids pull a goku by sparing them despite everyone else wanting them dead and them disregarding killing goku once cell showed up I can somewhat understand him not wanting to just kill her or thinking that the dragon balls couldn’t wish back an android but at the end of the day he still sold by breaking the remote instead of saving it or maybe even trying to use it on cell since he had 17 inside him 🤷
  • @AscendedEmperor

Man the Cell saga is like that Cell as a villain was just like that and seeing Gohan step up and become truly him was a great moment.
