This is the final backing maneuver and probably the most challenging. This channel has a Parallel Park video that shows step by step how to steer to get in the lane. It works the same on this maneuver but you have a big advantage. With this exercise you're backing into a 100' lane and the previous Parallel park lane is less. (The length of your truck plus 15 extra feet)

If you have trouble remembering what turns to make. Use your visual references in your mirrors, the “v” in your landing gear, and remember this LEFT, RIGHT, STRAIGHTEN OUT, RIGHT AND LEFT, straight back. Something simple that stuck in my head for this.

As a driver that started in 1983 and is still driving today. It is so good to see someone teaching good backing and parking skills. I hope your students will take what they have learned when they enter the industry and do as well then. I have noticed so many that park these days will have their trailers 3-10 feet in a space behind them and they don't care about the next guy. Keep up the good work please.

It’s all in the training please make sure you train the way you would have liked to be trained. Make it a pleasant experience, maybe the turnover rate for drivers is so high because the new drivers are going into this already with a bitter training experience. These guys will remember this for the rest of their life.
  • Great video very helpful, should've worked for Roadmaster haha could've really used you out on the pad

when doing the last right and left maneuvers into the box, is the steering wheel all the ways to the right and then all the way to the left? i test at school tmrw i hope i get this!
  • @blugrace6298
Thanks for the content. Hey. Does it matter how long your trailer is as far as when you're doing these cuts? Also, how long is this trailer that you're using in this video? Is it 53 ft?
  • And another question should that right cone disappeared before you start making that right turn because look like your back trailer tire was right beside the cone just trying to make sure before I test next week. Thank you
  • @6esss816
How far right do you turn though? The whole steering wheel? And same with the left turn how much do you turn?
  • @kyreemcclish7408
He did great! I have nothing bad to say about this video like do on some othees
  • @macmc147
Does the wheel placement on the lines change because you have the tandems all the way back.? What abt for CAs, 41 ft law.?
  • @StandFast1611
If you hit a cone or go out of the lines, would that be an automatic fail or could you use your pull up?
