LS cam bearings only need to be replaced if you accidentally look at them, so one must never look at them. Never violate the Law of Schrodinger's Cam Bearings.

This guys narration during his videos is the primary reason I watch. It’s like listening to NPR. I love it!

It’s a bummer that so many people dislike the LS platform and opt for engines like the 1/2JZ, 1UZ, etc. However, I’ve come to find that most people that dislike the LS have never had one themselves. The 2JZ is an awesome engine as is the 1UZ, but you nailed it when you pointed out the huge amount of aftermarket support. Kudos on going with an informed & scientific choice and not just doing what the internet thinks is worthy. I’ve found that most people constantly dogging the engine choices of others online generally aren’t in the garage themselves. Keep on keeping on! Stoked on this project.
  • Keep up the good work man i click on your videos as fast as i can when i get your notifications

Yep, Matt changed my whole perspective on what's required to go fast (and really fast). The days of needing 25k, just to go low 10's are gone. Has me attempting a similar swap in my Nissan hard body. So thanks for sharing, I'm sure it's gonna help me...
  • That Tacoma rear axle, and most Toyota truck solid axles are alot stronger then most people think. However the 8.8 is always a great affordable choice.

Anticipating the build weekly, looking forward to all the issues you encounter. The Taco project is inspiring me to do the same with my wife's 1983 S15 4x4, her first new car right out of collage. Only 121000 miles on it. We both love the Maita build, but we'll let you do the brain panning for this build. Stay safe and have a great summer!!

I like your style to clean everything, keep things in order etc, good example for people to follow. Keeping things clean means you spot leaks or issues way easier/earlier than on an half assed thrown together build. Keep the vids coming :)

love ya Tom, you have given me confidence and motivation time and time again to keep diving into projects

Love the videos man! You've inspired me to build an LS swapped Miata once I graduate college.

I love that you are super clean and detailed with your builds, as wierd as it sounds, I really enjoy watching you work. I like to keep things nice and clean when I'm working in the garage as well! Thank you for all of your hard work that goes into making these great videos!!

This style reminds me of Eric the Car Guy's second channel (ETCG1). I like the explaining, it helps us join in on the journey. The thing to remember is that you can't please all viewers; but most of us just want you to be happy with what you built, so you do you and we're all happy.

Nice to see a little behind the build reasoning. I love the fastidious way you clean and prepare the parts, thats the way to get the best from what you have, and essential to spot any problems before that become a disaster. I admit I would struggle to not do a full rebuild, but I can see and respect your reasoning for doing it this way, and it makes sense in the long run, good luck with the project.

I spend about 15 minutes a day cleaning my shop after a work session and that keeps my shop mostly organized. I plan on doing a LS build someday and your videos are part of my learning experience. Thanks for the great videos.
  • I love the budget approach and scrounging up parts from all different makes! Well done and it's your creation!
  • @brokenacoustic
5:42 I have the same Sinclair Gasoline tin! Love your videos, Tom, one of the best car-related channels on the 'tube.
  • @BVM03
Love your builds Tom! I'm building a turbocharged K24 1988 Fiero GT and a K20 1987 Fiero GT. Your builds are inspiring.
