I’m so excited for an NHL team here in Utah! My daughter and I have been going to the ECHL team here in Utah the Grizzlies. The game are so fun! I can’t imagine what the energy for an NHL team will be like. We will still be supporting the Grizzlies as long as they are here. We are very loyal! Haha but it’s still exciting! As long as the tickets aren’t crazy expensive I can’t wait to see some NHL action!

I get that Utah should take time to figure out the name.. but as an excited fan of our new team I think I speak for everyone when I say we want merch

A few updates. 27K+ season ticket are down payments. They're doing partial packages. The current stadium as of 2024's home opener, 16.3k seats, 12.5k with premium views. Less than 20% of the Jazz season ticket holders have bought NHL season ticket packages.... this was VERY interesting. Oh all this info was all shared by Ryan Smith in the past 24-48 hours. Most on this interview w/ Pat McAfee.

Great coverage! I've really appreciated all the excellent videos on the move.

A lot of reporters outside Utah fail to know/mention Utah has had minor league pro hockey for decades and it has thrived. Fans in UT are well-versed in the game. They haven't been without a team, just because it hasnt been NHL
  • @billdapp2491
Smith has already said that he is going to fix the lack of ice rinks in Utah.

17500 is great not too big. I actually love the jets at full capacity 15000 I think is perfect the fans at the very top still have a good view and it’s a great environment
  • @skiparkcityut
The NHL will work there. You can tell there’s a passion for winter sports already. Arizona was always a struggle to even without the stadium drama
  • @Carrollavirus
If they’re going to be spending big money on renovations, I truly believe that Ryan Smith should completely demolish the Delta Center, and build a brand new arena on that same site, and have both NBA and NHL teams play at the Maverick Center for 2-3 years until it is built.
  • I'm thinking if they went with Utah Scouts, it would be a nod to the first inhabitants of the state as well as to the mountain men like Jim Bridger and the first pioneers who saw the valley.

I’m happy to call this team NHL Utah for now as its working in the PWHL as all year I’ve been saying I’d rather be known as PWHL Minnesota than have a crappy name, my heart bleeds for Arizona but hopefully I’ll be less frosty towards NHL Utah when they play our Sharks next season but I’ll need time which is something Utah doesn’t have to get this ready

These YouTube stories on Utah and the NHL have become a bit much, but I always your coverage because you do your homework and add a level of professionalism most do not. Keep up with great videos all around Brodie!
  • @n8doggy733
Brodie! we NEED a Mason Miller vid!! ❤
  • @waverod9275
This inspired me to check on something. Apparently Gainbridge Fieldhouse could host an NHL sized rink, though it would be awkward. I don't think that Indianapolis had anything else the NHL was looking for (well, experienced owners, but i don't know that the Irsays and the Simons have expressed any interest in the NHL). No, Indy wasn't going to get the Coyotes, nor should they have.
  • @MikeTerry1969
How about you do a video for us Utah noobies about NHL salary caps, contracts, draft picks, and free agency.
  • @glendayle
A couple of questions. I keep hearing that Utah doesn't have very many rinks. My question is, "what do you consider a lot of rinks?". SL county has 7(not counting Maverik or Delta). How many rinks does Phoenix have? I'm also not sure how they are calculating "amateur" players. I'm assuming that is registered with USA hockey and i know of a few leagues that play under different orgs than USA hockey. Depending on how that is calculated I could see that number being low.
