Even if he doesn’t win another championship, I think he may have had some regret one day of never getting to drive for Ferrari compared to just seeing it out at Mercedes. I have no doubt this played a large part of it.

If & its a big If, Lewis win's a WDC in a Ferrari he would have won a Championship with three teams, only Fangio has done better with four. Over a lap he would have his hands full with Charles, though imo his race pace/craft, years of experience would be a big challenge to Charles who could only benefit from having Lewis as a team mate.

Sounds like technical team must have not listend to Hamiltons feedback again with certain philosophies, like before with wrong cockpit position and so on. Mercedes internally is truly on a decline.

What might be the biggest F1 story of the near future is how George Russell copes with the pressure of his role as team leader. Hamiltons absence will highlight his value and reveal just how big those shoes really are. Another Hamilton masterstroke? Time will tell.

I really hope this is an inspired move. I’d love to see Hamilton get his 8th. I wonder what they told him about the 2026 rule changes to convince him. I’ve not been a Ferrari fan since Mansell drove for them, so will have to dig out my now vintage Ferrari cap. Can’t wait for the 2024 season to start!

If you look at ground effect era only, Ferrari are a far better team than Mercedes, people only think Merc will comeback due to their 2014-2021 era. And frankly, the benefits of winning that 8th with Ferrari is like 100x more enjoyable than winning with Mercedes.

Hamilton vs Leclerc. I think Charles is more or less expected to out perform Lewis at this point. Maybe similar to how Nico was expected to outperform Michael at Mercedes.
