Blurb Zine (magazine) - print your photos

Published 2021-12-03
This is an amateur video purely intended to demonstrate what the Blurb magazine / zine looks like and the zine is a beautiful way to put your photographs into print, or to give as gifts. [More details below in the description]

Filmed on an iPhone 6.

The sample I have shown was created in my Lightroom software but it can also be created by going to the Blurb.com website using their BookWright software (I have NO affiliation with Blurb).

PURPOSE: Each year I create a personal 'yearbook' and since 2020 was the first year of the pandemic, my front and back covers reflect that. Naturally, the contents included a lot of pandemic-related images of our community and lives.
PAPER: I've used the premium magazine paper which is superior in thickness to that used in magazines sold in stores. You can choose to also include photographs on the inside covers of your magazine (I've only printed on the inside front cover).
COLOUR: I've found the colour reproduction using Blurb is definitely superior to many online printers intended for general public use.
LAYOUT OPTIONS: Although I prefer to use as few images as possible on each page in most cases, there are multiple layout options allowing you to select whether you want a single image or multiple images on any particular page. Text, if you want it, is easily added and again with multiple options.

I'm always advocating for people to put their photos (even if only your favourites) into print. The zine is an easy and inexpensive way to do so.

If you would like to try Blurb for the first time to make your own photo book, take advantage of using this for $30 off.

  • A splendid creation that has a great variety of photos that don't revolve around a particular subject or vacation. It was a nice "year in review".

This is so beautiful! There is a tenderness in each photo that reflects the challenges of 2020 while still holding space for gratitude. I love seeing your year in print!
