There making light of it all it was VERY serious back then. Lots of trouble, lots of problems. Delta and Dixie didn't talk for almost 10 YEARS.
  • I still watch this nightly on Hulu and I wish Delta could know that watching designing women helps me with my severe anxiety that worsens at night.

There were so many wonderful episodes. I loved this show! The network wanted to cancel it, but Delta Burke started a grassroots letter writing fan movement and it worked. I believe it was after the first episode or maybe it was during the first season. Anyway Delta Burke was what kept it on the air.

It’s amazing how differently people talk about mental illness now than when this aired. They meant well, but we have definitely evolved.

The "Supremes episode" was called "The Rowdy Girls". One of my favorites from the show...
  • The Most Lovely Group I Know. Delta You Are My Hero! I Watch Y'all Each Night. Golden Girls And Mary Tyler Moore Are On A Constant I Run Each Night. Nothing Soothes Me More Than You Ladies. And I Must Add In Frasier. Love To You Ladies! Grateful I Found This Channel.

Not comparing the 2 series BUT I feel like DW & The Golden Girls tackled such hot...taboo...controversial..untiuched (for the era) topics... Spousal Abuse Crossdressing Aids Homophobia Body Shaming Sexual Harrassment Rascism and so much more!!!

"I don't give a damn if you're a california raisin" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I love shows like designing women because they didn't give about idiotic people's sensitive ass feelings they did what truly mattered, the only thing that mattered and that's make a good show.
  • Cannot believe i missed this when it aired! Delta looked like she had work done here ..and maybe on her eyes!? She didn't need that at all! She was also missing her beautiful signature trademark smokey cateye makeup. Anyway she's still one of the most beautiful women in show business. LOVE THIS SHOW AND ALL THESE WOMEN! And Meshack! classic show that will never be duplicated! RIP DIXIE AND MESHACK!πŸ˜ͺπŸ“ΊπŸ₯€πŸŒΉπŸ’–πŸ€©πŸ˜πŸŽ΅πŸŽΆπŸ’œπŸ˜ƒ
