Chicken, Onion Jam Pizza using a Bread Machine

For the dough:

1 ¼ cups of warm water
2 tsps sugar
1 ½ tsps quick rise yeast
1 tsp salt
1 ½ TBSPS olive oil.
3 ¾ cups of all-purpose flour

Put the ingredients into the pan of the bread machine in the order listed. Set the machine on the dough cycle and allow it to work its way through.

White Sauce

2 TBSPS butter
2 TBSPS flour
1/8 tsp salt and pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
1 cup of milk

Melt the butter and add the flour stirring almost constantly for one to two minutes. Add the spices and seasonings and then add the milk a little bit at a time stirring constantly to make sure you don’t get lumps. Put into a shallow bowl, cover with plastic wrap chill while the dough is working.

When you bring the dough out of the bread machine cut it in half and set aside one half for the freezer. The other half set under a bowl for at least 10 minutes to rest. Then either press it out or roll it out until you have the desired size. Add the white sauce or if you are making a red sauce pizza add that sauce. Then top with whatever ingredients you like. For this video I used mozzarella cheese, rotisserie chicken, onion jam but you could use what ever you find in your fridge, add a little more mozzarella and you have a pizza.

The oven is set to 450 degrees and I left it in there for 16 minutes.

I love to make Mexican pizza. Mix some refried beans with about a tsp. Of taco seasoning, add your favorite salsa on top, shredded cheese and bake. If you like it spicy, add jalapeño peppers. Before serving I top with sliced avocado and chopped fresh tomatoes and green onions. Delicious! And thanks to you and you videos, I pulled my bread machine out of retirement and use it at least once a week. I live alone so quantity cooking that can’t be frozen or canned is a thing of the past, but I still love good home cooked meals.

That's cool that the pizza dough recipe makes enough for two pizzas!
  • I can't wait to make this for Friday pizza night! Yours came out so beautifully! 😋 Thank you. 🎉 FYI, when you take your frozen dough out of the freezer, immediately remove it from the plastic bag and put in a bowl to defrost. Cover the bowl with a cloth or cover to keep it moist, and then you don't have to fight with removing the soft sticky dough from the zipper bag. Ask me how I know. 😂

I had never thought of using white sauce it was always spaghetti sauce. I am definitely going to make this. Since I started watching your videos I have been using my bread maker more. Loving your recipes. 😊

Love white sauce pizza! Will definitely try this crust! I make a "Philly cheese steak" pizza with a cooked sandwich steak (frozen patty things) and mandolin sliced veggies (onion, grn pepper, mushrm) and broil it 1-2 min at the end to roast the veggies on top. With the chicken, I use diced sun dried tomatos and Cajun spice sprinkled on top. I use the jarred sauce, but only about 2-3T. Divide the rest in baggies and freeze for the next few pizzas.

  • Hi Colleen from Greeneville Tn . We were 4* Sunday and today Thursday we are 60* at 9:30am. I hope your weather is good ! This pizza looks amazing ! I have a bread machine also , but I only make bread in it and I’m very happy with the bread . But I’m going to try this dough . Thank You for sharing !!! Blessings to you all!
  • I used your pizza recipe- it worked great in my bread maker. The only difference was I adding 1t. Pizza seasoning from King Arthur in my dough mixture. Letting the dough rest for 15 min under a bowl made it easy to stretch in my pan. The white sauce was perfect . And freezing the 1/2 dough for later. I wanted to share my outcome- Thank You!
  • @Ozziecatsmom
