I heard this song sung In English by my mother and sisters and felt lonesome each time! The song is about a young gal who has to spend the summer up in the mountain with the family’s goats. She had to milk them every and then churn the milk into cheese. She yearned to be at home with her family. She can hear the church bells ringing and goes and sits on the side of the mountain and imagines going to church with her folks! Ole Bull wrote this song .

Pure, undiluted Sissel. This is default Sissel, the factory settings. Lying here listening in the wee small hours, enduring the awful pain of a recent back injury, I find her voice real pain relief.

For me it`s one of the most impressive live act of Sissel. The atmosphere is full of brilliant music and a Sissel who is really in good mood . She is spreading pure joy of live. Sissel sings with such a lot of soul and her musicians accompany her so closely with their phantastic musicality ! In one word I love this show !

I love hearing you talk and sing in any language. I do hope one day you will sing I am Optimist in English. I found translation and it is wonderful to try to learn. Watching you sing some in your native tongue, without a clue of words, you still convey such emotions that my heart feels it too. Thank you
