Of course The Lego Movie's unwanted cousin would try to get a piece of the movie magic pie. It's just a shame that no real thought or talent was put in to make it any good. Or for anyone to even decipher WHY the Lego Movie was so successful...

CGI?: actually really good Characters?: decent Whole idea?: awful.

It's a shame, the animation is gorgeous for this mediocre movie. The colors are nice and vibrant, and really catches your eye.
  • Y’know when I watched the lego movie for the 1st time, I thought it was actually lego stop-motion, only found out when watching this video that it was CGI. The amount of effort put into LM is amazing.

This movie was basically what everyone feared The Lego Movie was gonna be, thank goodness it was saved
  • @SlantedSlapper
It could've worked... the artstyle is likable and the animators are obviously talented.

Marla after first arriving: has trouble moving due to a lack of knees Marla for the rest of the movie: has knees They couldn’t at least commit to that?

The ironic part is that something like a „playmobil oc" is impossible, because playmobil figures are not customisable.

The Lego Movie's animation was so good that I genuinely thought it was stop motion until I watched this video. 10000% my favorite animated movie series from the past few years.

This is going up against Frozen 2 in North America....I'll let that speak for itself

When you have a good animation team but a... ...ok writing team

“Kind of like a playmobile figure when you’re waiting for your Lego set to be delivered” my man that made me laugh so much

The plot of the kids' parents dying so early into the movie is a very heavy subject for kids. I remember watching it with my nephews, we didn't watch it to the end, the movie was way too fast-paced for us.

the “i dont have knees” gag is destroyed when you realize THEY ALL HAVE KNEES
  • Wait a minute... You’re trying to tell me that the LEGO Movie WASN’T made with Stop motion? IVE BEEN WATCHING THIS FOR YEARS AND IM JUST LEARNING THIS NOW FFS
  • @kirara2516
They also ripped off Lilo and Stitch with the siblings losing their parents and the older sister has to become the mom figure to the younger girl.
  • I saw the ad for this at the movie theatre with my mom. I remember my mother said “What a rip-off of the Lego movie.” I mean, I owned three play mobile toys and a app. The app was super glitchy and buggy and only a closet I think remains and their heads could never quite stay on.

Let me get this straight: The protagonists are both underage when their parents tragically die... and 5 years later they are still living in the same house, which they can somehow afford, they apparently have no other relatives that raised them (uncle, aunt, grandparents?) but they were neither placed into an orphanage nor given a legal guardian by the government?

Let's be real here... This is a million times better than the Emoji Movie, in terms of Lego Movie copycats.

I have a theory that in the beginning this movie should have been the film of the TV serie "Super 4", and it was pretty good even if it is kinda simple. I said that for 2 reasons: 1) In the Italian Wikipedia in the Super 4 page there is written that in 2018 there will be a Super 4 film and at the end there is this film (I don't know if in the other Wikipedias there is written this); 2) In this movie there are similar things to the tv series: there is an agent who is very intelligent and creates things (the agent from the TV serie is 100 better than the Daniel Ratcliffe one), the setting of the fairyland in the movie is similar to the TV serie's one and other things... I don't know why the producers didn't do a movie about Super 4, it has so much potential than the "Playmobile Movie", they could give much lore in the serie and they could give a true good finale... [I'm sorry if I did grammatical's error in this comment, English is not my native language😅).
  • I think that what would make this movie at least a little bit better is if the brother actually learned something due to the whole adventure. The film basically now shows that the sister was wrong, even though she kept the whole house, making food for her brother and working hard for their living. I think that it would be better if brother while being kept in the prison was treated horribly wrong, like not getting a lot of food and being insulted. That would give him comparasion of how his sister always treated him right and and that could give him character development. There is a lot of more to fix here but I think that would make the "lesson" more convincing. You still here? How sweet of you! Here, have a cookie 🍪
