Carey I think you have a valid point about the publicity for the Color Purple ended up being focused on the complaints rather than promotion of the movie. That could have very well turned people off from wanting to see it. Especially with all of the body language conspiracy theories about Taraji and Oprah.

That movie was great. It touched me and the five friends I went with. We were of all generations and they all felt the same. I love musicals and my children and grands also. We were poor blacks, not poverty stricken my parents worked and did ok but it was six of us. They taught us culture. To appreciate all music and read books enjoy history. Our minds were opened . I read the book three times, saw the first movie saw the broadway play and now this musical. I loved it. This is truly an award winning movie, it honestly is. We refuse to support each other but the rappers we support.. tail shaking we support… and killing movies and gaming we support.. well we love that. Sad very sad. I thank my parents for developing our east side black minds. 💕

I definitely agree with craig!! Nobody had money to be spending on a movie when we got the holidays and bills right behind each other! Also I feel that she didn't really tell everything, the other girl was the one exposed that they had to pay for their own food, sharing a trailer & all that, and she did it sitting right next to oprah. This situation was just weighing on her and she had to let it out. Going through something like this when you have worked so hard can really mess you up mentally like it's just messed up fr.
