    Can I just say thank you for finally explaining the polarity of the batteries properly? Most videos just tell me that that this is the way that it should be aligned and they don't actually explain or show that the flat side is the positive side. I've been soldering it wrong this whole time because the battery arrangement is so inconsistent in all the videos. Thank you!

    Thank you. Two questions I had. Any thoughts on how to save a game before you do this and restore it afterward? Also I had a similar issue with a Gamecube clock battery. A lot of people recommended replacing it with a "Battery mount" so you could just replace the battery without soldering if it ever died again. Is there anything like that for gameboy games (I'm guessing not with how tight of a form factor this is).
