The reason cracked servers are so popular in not English speaking countries is just because Mojang isnt adjusting their prices to the region, so in a lot of places Minecraft is just not worth the price.
  • @Numerosity
Honestly, I don't blame anybody who plays on these. Playing on servers was part of my childhood, and I wouldn't want to starve anyone of that experience

Twink accounts isn't a mistranslation, in europe over many years twink has been used as a term for alt, or specialized, for example in WoW twinking is the practice of making a character levelling them to a certain level and then stopping there and gearing them with the best gear for that level, this is pretty common with lvl 19 twinked rogues for examples. But it is funny in a modern context-

As someone from a non-English speaking community (*cough* Romania) I was dirt poor and had no other way to play Minecraft rather by these cracked servers. Gamster was actually a big part of my teenagehood. As an adult I have now moved on from it and finally acquired a legitimate version of Minecraft. A change I will never revert, honestly. But still having to admit that Gamster opened my head regarding Minecraft multiplayer as a whole.

It's so strange that some cracked servers have gotten blocked and then unblocked by Mojang

7:22 "bathhouse" is a mistranslation of "ban", which happened to be in prepositional case. The word "баня" (banya, a form of sauna) has the same prepositional form.

10:50 Just wanna say that Russian "anarchy" game mode just generally isn't the same as the rest of the world. It's more like factions servers with possibility to grief others' bases with all means possible, but breaking/placing blocks by hand. The game mode likely got popularized before the "total anarchy" popularity boom, hence the confusion. Either way, as always, awesome video.

Minecraft is so widely cracked in Poland that we refer to paid (legal) version as "Minecraft Premium". In other words, Minecraft is considered a "free" game. 💀
  • As someone from Poland, I can confirm I've seen people download cracked launchers (mostly Crystal Launcher) and play on kokscraft during IT classes, in libraries, and probably a lot at home too. I don't blame anyone for doing this though: our economy isn't exactly the best, and even if you have the money - you have to go through many hoops to buy the game without using a payment card, which kids obviously don't have (and most of them don't want to risk getting into trouble by borrowing their parents' card). When I bought the game many years ago, before I had a bank account - my only option was paysafecard, and even that was a nuisance as at the time you couldn't even buy the game for actual Polish złoty, you absolutely had to pay in Euro. Kids here just don't have the money or if they do: don't want to bother going through so much just to get a legal license, when they'll probably join cracked servers likely sponsored by popular Polish YouTubers anyways.

I find it funny at 2:25 that the biggest difference in the shops is the messages from Barry and Larry

In some countries MC is worth more than the monthly their salaries. It's mostly in western society where they have enough money to spend 30$ on a game.
  • Hi there. As an ex-administrator of Fakepixel, I can assure you that they are doing everything legally (well, maybe except the sponsor ranks, which I agree that they are against the EULA). Yes, the server was run, and is run by Russian Staff, and was founded by a Russian Staff Member, which got excluded from the staff team, late october this year, and, especially after being the founder, I find this hilarious. I've been told that there was a few incidents before where a hypixel staff member found fakepixel and told the rest of the Hypixel Team about it, but since Fakepixel is custom coded and everything, Hypixel agreed to let us (well, them) run it. We had a few of Hypixel's staff members join our server and comment, including one of the administrators, which I will not name, but I remember we had a chat and, not gonna lie, it was really funny. Aside, I found this video entertaining, but I wish you do more research next time. PLSzymonGaming

7:39 a twink account is a normal way to say an alt account in slavic languages, not even a mistranslation, although the expression likely originated from a mistranslation.

The server you skipped, Cristalix, is just insane in terms of how modded the client is. It definitely raises the question of how legal it is to repackage the entire Minecraft client and lock out single player and other servers except for their own. And it sees crazy player counts as well, if I remember correctly somewhere of around 20,000. And it doesn't even use forge nor fabric for modding, they have a custom mod loader for that to avoid cheats. It also has P2W + gambling elements in it, though not as crazy as in some other servers Thanks for making this video and raising awareness of p2w servers, it's both enjoyable and useful!

I think that to solve "problem" with warez/cracked minecraft servers (without impact minecraft community) will be to make prices same for everyone (based on their country). Because if some think the game is cheap, it doesn't mean it's cheap for everyone on earth.
  • @AndrzejTheSecond
In Poland there are SO MANY cracked servers that I thought its actually legal.
  • @aleksandronix
90% of game piracy could be ended with adding regional prices. Most stuff is priced in USD and the price is the same all around the world. 20$ for an American can seem like a petty money, but for many countries and individuals in them it can be 4-10x times more expensive in comparison.
  • @metalspoon69
Twink accounts isn't a wrong translation, even in the west we used that term. Mainly applied to low level alts with insane gear in WoW to dominate PvP with.
  • @dejlord2541
In Poland the cracked accounts are called non-premium and half the kids playing have cracked accounts
