A $100k car thatā€™s depreciated down to $20k still has car repair bills for a $100k car

As an owner of a cheap exotic, do be prepared once you have one of these cars there is a cost to maintain them, find a mechanic/source of parts you not only can trust but also does not break the bank.
  • Itā€™s not always the price, itā€™s also about maintenance and reliability
  • I bought a used 2006 Porsche Cayman S. It looks and drives great and I've had no issues over almost two years. Everyone thinks I'm rich and I get compliments every time I drive it. I'm suprised at how many people think it's new!
  • You forgot to add in the latest Lotus Emira , I think it's really loverly and looks very exotic for it's price starting at $60 000

You don't have to be rich to afford a used first gen Porsche Boxster or Cayman, and then you're not driving around in a "replica." Even rich guys bomb around in used Porsches and use them for commuting to client meetings and such. They're reliable, surprisingly affordable, and DIY maintenance is easy.

The worst part about these cars is that the repair cost will cost you a leg

I've always been a modern Corvette fan, they look so clean

Vette is the best choice in terms of maintenance and reliability. Many aftermarket choices, as well. There's also a stupid body kit available.
  • The Maserati may have dropped price but you forgot 1 thing , it's a Ferrari manufactured car , the maintenence of it will be way way way more than what you paid for it in the long run.Infact I think it will cost you the same for parts as when it was brand new.

I am an owner of a 2010 Jaguar XKR. it has 510hp & is supercharged. It can be E tuned to nearly 700hp. Hands down, the best car on this list. The car is loaded with proprietary software. If you can't afford $205. an hour at the dealer, this is not the car for you. Most of the owners of these cars, have no problem paying for the upkeep. If you damage a rear end, you will be paying $10,000.or more, just for parts.

I kinda like the SPR-1, I kinda wanted a Miata just for fun (really loved the look of that car as a kid, dont know why) and seeing that body kit...
  • I'm just falling in love with your channel, especially because you are presenting interesting kit-cars

I wouldnā€™t buy them to make me look rich Iā€™d buy if I like them and the styling

The MR2 would be my choice out of all these cars with the FFR as a close second, both have a nice exhaust notes!
  • I would say my favorite would be the corvette. I dig muscle cars. And the vette fits that bill wonderfully

i have a maserati gt bought 3 years old at Ā£50k and still worth Ā£50k to Ā£55k i got the one with the 4.7 litre engine still only 23k miles on it despite it being now 8 years old WOnderful car. never had anything go wrong. most expensive work done to it has been when new tyres were needs and scuffing the alloys which then had to be repaired Ā£50 each wheel still looks amazing, gets complimented every day pretty much and still makes a the school kids shout wow as i toodle past them Amazing car
