Recently approved by the TSA for use in US airports, the Rohde & Schwarz QPS 201 delivers a passenger-friendly checkpoint security screening experience with its open design and relaxed scan pose. The new, high-performance system eliminates the need for passengers to raise and hold their arms up, for scanning. The system’s relaxed scan pose makes security screening easier and faster for all passengers, especially those with mobility challenges. I always wondered what they see when I raise my hands and get scanned

I remember that one! They have one in AMS. I went through security by last year.

Is this something that's only happened in the last year or is this clip old footage?

I went through a weird one that puffed air on me that was supposed to detect presence of different chemicals… I had never seen or heard of it before and they made only me and my friend do it out of everyone on the plane ….

What about the levela of radiation? Isnit x-ray based?
  • They are German made rhoden and Schwartz QPS they are supposed to scan and give result in around 1 to 1,5 seconds they are used at the airport I use for half the filters and the other half uses American made SSC wich are the round ones where you put your arms up. They are supposed to take around 3 seconds. The QPS are a lot more consistent in that they show they are also more forgiving with things like organic materials think of little papers or candy. But they do show belts almost always. The SSC on the otherhand needs to be calibrated all the time meaning that the things it shows may differ from day to day. They are more forgiving of belts but really don't like papers or anything left I. Pockets Or taller shoes.
