don't let your husband be in charge of packing. it took me 7 years to find the cord to my brand new fryer after we moved. and we found it at my moms. no clue as to how it got there. plus he used our dirty garbage can to pack stuff. in it I found our toaster, towels, utensils and some art from my bathroom walls.

I took all my hanging clothes, laid them on a queen size sheet & folded sheet over. hubby carried one end, I carried the other!

I just moved into our first home this week! More tips: organize before you move! 1.!The two weeks before I moved, I made an effort to simply organize and declutter, little by little. I got a lot of dollar tree baskets and drawer organizers which made it a million times faster to get settled at the new place. 2. Don't pack blankets or towels. You'll need them to protect and your furniture from rubbing against the truck or other furniture during the move. 3. Saran Wrap your necklaces into rolls so they don't get tangled. Use Press & Seal over other jewelry drawers to keep things in their compartments. 4. Take off the curtain hanger pieces and screws, put them in a snack bag, and tape them to their coordinating pole. 5. Keep one roll of toilet paper in all bathrooms until you're COMPLETELY moved. 6. Try to pack nearby objects into furniture drawers. 7. Don't pack cleaning supplies until your previous residence has been cleaned after the move.
  • I've moved so many times in my life, I know everything about it!! First thing, before you start packing anything, grab a large suitcase and pack your stuff as if you're going on vacation for about 3 weeks. That way you won't have to open boxes and look for things you need to use right away, in the old or new place. After that, then you can just packing everything and not worry that you might need it in a couple weeks. Second, pack the farthest room from your bedroom first then move towards your bedroom. Then put those things first in the truck and last in the new place. Third, unpack your kitchen first. Leave your room for last except the bed, since you have the suitcase with everything you'll need for the next 3 weeks anyway. I like the idea of using your clothes to wrap stuff. Love your videos! XO

I definitely started watching this thinking "I'll watch it because I love Rachel, though it does not apply to me..." and then you said "if you are going to college" and I thought.... WAIT. I AM MOVING. OH MY GOD. WAIT.

I packed my suitcase as if I was going on a trip. Then I had clothes right away and toilet items as well as make up for looking better to go out to eat until I could cook again.

    HER PAC-MAN IMPRESSION THO...πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘ŒπŸ»ah love u Rachel
  • Good luck with the process! Can't wait to see the new chapter for your guys :) Also! I find it's much easier to use the garbage bag upside down for that second tip! Just ripping a tiny hole through the middle of the top and dragging it down over the clothes through the opening saves way more time :) Then you don't have to struggle with the "pacman" method haha β™₯
