Well, I am retired and bought my EV for just doing around town daily driving. I don't get on high speed Expressways or do long trips, and I only charge my EV in my home garage. So it works for me, and I don't really care what others think about EV vehicles.
  • @justinsugay1149
I had a Leaf for 4 years and now have a Model 3. Tesla Supercharging network makes for a completely different experience. Way better!
  • @samclark3879
I have a 2021 MYP with 39,000 miles. I purchased it with the idea it would be the last car I ever have to buy. (I was 68 at the time). Nothing has happened since to make me think that won't be the case. No maintenance costs outside of changing the cabin air filter and the tires recently. Absolutely LOVE my MYP as much now as when I bought it.
  • The same people that complain about range and charge times, are the same folks that willingly sit at costco for gas.
  • @samirshah5411
I got my long range model Y on June 2, 2021 have put on almost 89,000 miles, zero issues besides three sets of tires. Waiting for a cyber beast allocation.
  • @ColinLaughery
Took me a few months of watching your stuff to see the full spectrum of humor that you toss. Damn, man... You have a gift.
  • @WaynePeacock
Battery density is important. But, when considering the whole EV market, I think range is not as important as infrastructure and charging speed.
  • @Wi2Low
Our first was a July 2020 Model Y. Loved it and put 56,000 miles on in two years. Then we traded it for a new Oct 2023 Model Y with FSD HW 4. WOW! Hard to believe the huge improvement in fit and finish, reduced noise, and suspension smoothness... And the improvements in FSD recently are mind blowing.
  • @jsasu.3
i just hit 90,000 on my 2021MYP. Love it. 2 sets of tires and about 6 jugs of washer fluid/wipers is all i have replaced. BMW fan also, in fact, Im shopping for a X5 M50i (V8) after a we pay the Tesla off.
  • @CaptainCrunch-1
Gotta get Michelin tires. They last much longer. I own a model 3 (5 years) and model y (2 years) and have had one issue with a passenger seat sensor. The Tesla tech came to my house and fixed it within 30 minutes. Zero issues. Love traveling in the model Y. Haven’t been limited anywhere we go in the US. Both vehicles lost about 8-10% of max range the first 2 years and haven’t degraded at all since. My model 3LR still has a Mx range of 285. I think I could own these cars for 15-20 more years if need be. Absolutely love both cars.
  • @samwarren1429
Gjeebs stated reasons for upgrading: 1) Low finance rate. 2) Creator content. Number 1 is reasonable IF you like the current model or need to replace your car NOW. However, you seem to have the current car set up just the way you like it. Trade up to the performance model? Number 2? What new content can you create with it? Everything is the same except for the processor and cameras. You have already done all the upgrade videos, travel videos, impression videos, accessories, etc. That only leaves a few new processor driven features. Logically you should wait for the refresh (if that still happens).
  • @johnbailey2933
I have a M3P with 30K mi and am going to get a Model Y for my spouse with the 0.99% finance. I'm happy with both. Your (and others) complaint is like saying I would buy a certain car if it had a much larger gas tank. Rather our complaint should be the slow roll out of dependable and multiple charging sites. Tesla is the only car company making this part of their capitol investment strategy. If logistics support doesn't markedly improve, EV adoption will remain a niche product (at least in the US). (IMHO) Thanks for your honest update.
  • @TheYendor24
I vote that if Top Gear USA is ever revived, Gjeebs has to be the host. He just has to. I love this dude's channel.
  • @TedKidd
I upgraded my 21 to 24 in March. So glad I did. $13k, FSD transfer, credits to put boost on one of my other cars, 10k supercharging, brand new warranty, and rid of a noisy hard riding car.
  • Thanks for the in depth coverage, well done. Glad I subscribed.
  • @MrHotep75
I'm about to purchase my first Tesla and this has been a very informative and candid video. I appreciate this 💯. Thank you!
  • @davidr3246
Happy to hear you say you’re not all in on voice commands. Me too. Great, well-balanced review. Had the model 3 for 3 years and agree with every point you made, and you articulated your points so well.
  • @jerryjensen5052
I've added the Model Y 2024 for my wife and and I continue to drive my Model 3 thanks for all your videos that convince my wife to at least test drive the model Y and she loved it after the Test drive....
  • @smp9992
I've had a MYLR for 6 months now. I never knew about the 'Keep' feature. I knew there was a front dash cam, I did not know I could bring it up on the screen. I am certain there will more more easter eggs to be uncovered. Great video - this is the one you show your friends. "Forget the fact that this is an EV, I just like driving the car" - that's my new line when speaking to others.
