  • We very rarely do auctions and only if an item looks to be really rare or have really good results in solds. I really prefer a solid number and entertain serious offers. And I make people message me for offers because that seems to weed out abusive offers.
  • If those are the pictures you used, they may be partially to blame. Better lighting and multiple angles on a hanger maybe. I'm learning that Titles are a huge factor as well. Watch a couple of videos on how to make a great title. But those are just my thoughts. I haven't had my first 5 items I listed sell yet, so take it with a grain of salt. I'll post more if I have any success - Good Luck!

I'm a coin buyer and the dealers who do the most volume and sell for the highest prices are the ones who list a LOT of items and do it every single day. In the beginning, they sold at lower prices and even took losses on some items. But that drew more bidders in because people like to get deals. It becomes easier and easier over time for such a seller to get high auction bids. The biggest dealers don't need to make a buck on every single sale because they have so much cash flow.
  • What is your experience running eBay auctions? Any luck with them or tips for other resellers?
  • I have been selling with eBay since 1997 and "Buy It Now" listings do exponentially better than auction. I almost never auction anymore. It seems like a huge waste of time now.

Buyers love to waste your time. I listed an item didn't get paid. I'm doing BIN only from now on.
  • I'm running my first two auctions right now and it's not looking good. Both are unusual items (a full year of a magazine from 2002 and a battle reenactment game from 1999) but that doesn't seem to be helping. I know a lot of the action comes at the end, but neither item has any watchers or anything. I'm wondering if I set my opening bids too high. Bottom line, so far it's not looking like auctions are gonna be my go-to, either.

I tried doing 1 auction when I first started amd was still learning back in 2014. $120 faucet sold for a dollar. Nope. Lesson learned. Buy it now or I won't even list it.
  • we sell on auction free and super cheap buy cost... just to rehome it and get it out of our way
