I’m not sure about you, but I absolutely love playing disc golf in the woods. It can become a sticky situation quickly, but there is one shot that helped me conquer my fear of those nightmare-inducing disc smackers called trees.

Learning how to throw a hyzer flip reduced my scores not only to help me become a more accurate player on tight lines but also increased my distance potential dramatically. The hyzer flip is utilized by players of all skill levels, and I want to help you learn the why and how for mastering the hyzer flip. What are these essentials? You’ll have to watch to find out!

  • All this time I've been trying to throw everything flat and straight an d having limited success on my drives..my bro showed me the hyzer flip last Sunday and it has already given me more distance, accuracy and a lower score...I've been practicing my ass off and was getting sooper frustrated and discouraged before that. Great video man! As usual!!😁😁
  • I’ve spent 2 years watching disc golf videos on flight, angle control, hyzer flips, etc trying to figure it out and you just explained all of it in 9 minutes lol great video!!

My Heat was so unstable. I tried to hyzer flip and have loved it ever since.

Your way of explaining things is excellent Robbie! Keep it up! I learned something new today 👍
  • @DatJoeGuy
This was one of the best disc golf tutorials I’ve ever seen. Easy to follow and so informative. Thanks Robbie!
  • Thanks man! I am missing this in my game. I have been trying to figure it out myself. This is incredibly helpful.

Great vid and I love the table ton collection in the background!!! I see some of my faves!!
  • Was throwing hyzer flips inconsistently with a Buzzz. Fixed my nose angle issues and now it's my reliable tunnel shot. Took me about my first full season to feel confident with it.
  • @alland.713
very clear & informative thanks! can't wait to try this and throw it right into the lake.

I am, green2discgolf. Another informative video! I have been throwing my star aviar, for a few weeks now. I can put it where i want, most of the time about 150'. I want to start to working distance. I have been throwing my DX Leppard. I am working on control and distance. I can throw the Leppard about 220' but I am all over the place. If I crank it hard it turns hard to the right. Now watching this video I think, I have been throwing Leppard on anhyzer. I had a seasoned disc golfer say that it may be time to move up to a disc with more speed, which I do have but dont throw them yet. I think will focus on the hyzer angle now and see if I get more distance out of my Leppard. Once I can get distance and control out of the Leppard will move to my Roadrunner...beep beep! 😂

Great video, Robbie. Hyzer vs. Flex explanation, helped me out tremendously!
  • I do love watching your videos I’ve been playing for a little more than a year now and loving every bit of it

I loved your advice about starting with a very under stable disc and throwing it on hyzer and into a roller was the game changer for me back in the day. Hyzer flips never clicked with me until I started doing this in a field and I could watch and feel how the disc moved. I wish I would have had this advice back in the day. It took months of practice and trial and error that you summed up in 9 minutes. Thanks for the content and advice!

Good teaching skills, you really helped fill in the gaps for me, nice work.
  • @tymic22
I remember when I was learning I would throw under stable discs to try to keep them straight longer before the crash but as I got better my mamba that used to go straight and short when thrown flat began to turn a bit more and more every time I threw until it was turning into a roller. Eventually I started trying to counter the turn by throwing on hyzer and that was the start of a beautiful relationship between me and hyzerflips. I now have like 6 discs in my bag that I used specifically for hyzer flips and it is the shot that I am most confident on and I get the most distance on. Love the shot, everyone should learn how to throw it. Thanks for the video!
  • The hyzer flip is one of my favorite shots and as you mention not only helps with distance but is great for wooded course. I can consistently flip my Leopard, Wraith and Beast, all DX plastic.
  • @jeremyknapp892
Great vid- looking forward to getting out and trying this goodness on the green!
  • @bvwol
Well done video. Concise and to the point. What helped me the most was a review of disc choice and being able to read what your disk is doing to tell you whether you have too much or too little hyzer. Thanks
