I'VE PLAYED MANOR LORDS, and have A LOT to tell you! First off, I can't believe we're here, so close to release after all this time, years of waiting and of extreme hype. Well, while this is not my final review of the game - that will come closer to release - it's more of a showcase and preview if you will, but I CAN tell you that Manor Lords is shaping up to be absolutely incredible, a massive breath of fresh air in the city builder and tactical strategy genre. I am so excited to show you this video and tell you what I've been up to in the past few days, and sincerely hope you like what you see.

Manor Lords is the most wishlisted game on Steam at the moment, and I know you've all been as excited as I have. So, does seeing more gameplay increase your excitement? What do you think of the fact that the game is releasing in early access, and will you play it right away, or wait for more content and updates? And do you think the battles look awesome and Total War-like (perhaps better?), or are you here for the city building? Let me know in the comments, and remember to leave a like and subscribe to the channel!

Hopefully the developer makes a lot of money on this. That is what is going to enable him and the many people he will hire to make more of these. They won't even have to be radically different because there are many other locations to make games out of. Mesopotamia, the Mediterranean, the North Sea, the East Indies, and India will all have different seasons, crops, threats, and landscapes. It didn't look like there was much in the way of defenses so eventually building walls and fortresses like in Stronghold will happen.

This is definetely the sequel for the people who loved Banished.

The fact that 1 person over 7 years can create a beautiful historical game, really opens your eyes to triple A companies having absolute zero excuse for them-

Spear shall be shaken, shield shall be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!

Finally! That snow covering your village looked incredible

What I find funny it's in this game there's no new concepts but everything is just done right. A builder, management and combat. Studios like CA can make games like this in blink of an eye (looking from development cycles perspective) but they chose to make slop over and over again, just reskinning assets and reusing same mechanics they did from first total war game. That is honestly what makes me happy, talented indie devs will win big and reap the rewards while slop churning corporation run studios will eventually go bankrupt!

KCD is on cryengine not UE

Total war medieval 3 needs to have combat just as detailed and immersive as this

10:00 This is the #1 feature newer total wars currently lack, and something they need to bring back. It makes them more personal, makes the battles more intense. In anycase, I'm really glad that Manor lord handled the battle system great -- surpassed my expectations, even. Honestly ... if it can handle 2000 soldiers at once without lagging? And with mod tools? Yeah. I can see it.

I have been folowing this game for 3 years
  • There really is something beautiful in looking at a game made over 7 years by practically one person, which looks more beautiful and has more potential than a high-budget suicide "game" created by a studio with 20 years of experience based on the almost hundred-year-old DC Comic brand. ;')

You sold me with the KCD comparison. I'm currently replaying it for the third time and its my happy place. This game looks wonderful

All it really is missing is Castles and Cathedrals

This game combines one of my favourite games together Banished(City Builder with Survival Elements), Total War Series(Strategy/Commanding Units) and bit of Cities Skylines(Gridles free Building) and on top of that graphics look beautiful.
