  • You haven’t even scratched the surface. If you dig deeper, you'll become a full blown Swiftie. 😂

“This is me trying” is a must from this session.

Taylor writes ALL of her lyrics/songs. The guy on the piano, a producer is Jack Antanoff, on guitar is also producer Aaron Dessner, both award winning. Taylor is the most Brilliant songwriter, without question. She has said herself, I’m a songwriter first, who sings her own songs.
  • “Exile” from these Long Pond sessions is perfection. I’ll die on that hill.
  • Oh, I love this one! It's about Scott Borchetta from her label, Big Machine Records. She was so close to him, and he betrayed her by selling her catalog without her knowledge. When she mentions jewels (you wear the same jewels that I gave you (gold, platinum records) as you bury me. And the stolen lullaby line is superb.

People have no idea what they're missing when it comes to Taylor and all the different genres and styles that she has across her discography. Most just still see her as a teen girl strumming her guitar that never grew up. She is an immense talent and has something for almost everyone if they just give her a chance. ❤
  • "Man...If there's a lot more of this kind of stuff in her catalog, I'm lookin' forward to delving a lot more into it." INSTANT FOLLOW, because she totally does. I'm excited for you!

It’s among the greatest she’s written. It’s among the greatest ever—in that pantheon.
  • One of my favourites ❤ 1. This is Jack Antonoff - producer, they work together for years and are great friends,, he also work with Lana Del Rey 2. Track 5 in all her albums is the song that feels more personal to her, more vulnerable 3. This song can be taken as a betrayal by a friend, going through a divorce, literally taken you're dead and the person who killed you is at your wake, but Taylor's reasons for writing come from very deep betrayal by a father figure in her life Scott Borscheta - the owner of her previous label who was with her from the very first album when she was 15-16 years old. He owned her first 6 albums and was planning to sell the company and she knew and wanted to buy her masters but he wanted to sign another contract - for every new album she could buy one old one and she refused and sign with new label but the masters from now on will be hers. Then the biggest betrayal was when he sold the company to Scooter Braun - a man who hates her and through out the years they had feud, so now this enemy of hers "owned" her and if she wanted her music back she had to sign NDA to never speak badly about him ever again - of course she refused. The end of the story, how she won: she decided to re-record all of her past six albums again and now they even sold more then before and even films, radios etc. are using her new masters so basically the old ones are worthless. Until now she has re-recorded 4 albums (while releasing 2 new ones and touring) and we're waiting on the last two - Reputation and Debut. That's why you can see on some songs there is "Taylor's version" her re-records and also she puts as a treats for the fans some never heard before songs which didn't make the final cut on the albums One thing about Taylor - she's very protective of her song writing and melodies👍 Another suggestions: 1. Seven ( about childhood friend who at the time she hadn't realized that it's from an abusive home and just wnated to move together so she can stop crying) 2. Cardigan - there is very beautiful music video 3. The Lakes 4. All too well - (10 minute version) - it's very old song but for her age of 21 I think the writing is amazing 5.Ivy - secret relationship/ cheating 6. Cowboy like me - one of my all time favourites ❤ 7. Dancing with our hands tied - it's more upbeat, beautiful melody 8. Would've, could've, should've - it's from the perspective of 32 years old Taylor when she was 19 and dated a 32 year old and still regrets it to this day😢 9. Exile feat. Bon Iver - immaculate song, also there is version of it in the Long Pond Sessions

I will never get tired of watching grown men discover her genius. ♥️
  • @danameyer9198
She will evoke some secret place in you that you had no idea anyone could know.
  • @ameliadavis1979
Taylor describes her songs as written with a glitter gel pen, fountain pen or quill. She has different styles of songs. I think that is a fabulously funny way to describe her songs.
  • @CAMPFIRESKY
The more you learn about Taylor, the deeper you will venture down the rabbit hole. Can't wait to see you react to other Taylor Swift songs. All of FOLKLORE is amazing. Then you can venture into watching ALL TOO WELL 10 minute movie.
  • The Folklore and Evermore albums are probably right up your alley. She dropped these albums just a few months apart early in the pandemic with zero notice. They’re spectacular. Shes an incredible lyricist.
  • @Kim-hc5si
Okay, now I can't wait until we get to 'Exile' (Long Pond, of course) <3
  • @lygourd
You've described it exactly: there are a small number of songs, when I heard them for the first time it felt like I already knew them, like I'd heard them all my life because they're so perfect. This is one of those songs.
  • @Mom3js
Her live version of this on Eras Tour is one of my favorite performances.
  • @Mom3js
Nobody can write lyrics like Taylor. The girls pen is fire!
  • @jamiespeese2062
This is me trying with the talk before hand! From long pond. Gets me every time. I always say people who only know “radio Taylor” are missing out. For whatever reason, her singles are never her best. Great reaction! 🥰
