Nicolaus Bruhns, Praeludium in G major

This is my performance of Nicolaus Bruhns' Praeludium in G major. This piece is an example of the Stylus phantasticus composition, and features alternation between fantasia-like sections and two fugal developments. Notably, the first fugue features two independent voices in the pedal. Bruhns himself was a student of Dietrich Buxtehude and one of the most prominent organists of the late 17th century. Only five organ works of his remain in their entirety, although they remain as exemplary compositions from the North German organ tradition.
