think the hair being darker is what is giving her a different feel, her bright blonde hair made her pop more
  • @qg786
I think they need to make her hair blonde rather than brunette. It's what made her stand out more. If Ocelot's hair is blonde her hair should also be the same shade of blonde.

In my opinion, as a life-long MGS fan, when I first saw the Boss reveal, I never once found her new model off putting in the slightest. I don't know why, but I really do like her new model. She looks tired and depressed, which is what I always imagined her new model to look like, given her age and the countless wars she's seen.
  • @JaredAF
I did think the model of the Boss didn't look right, glad I wasn't the only one.
  • First I thought this doesn't look like the Boss, but more I checked the details on her face, I began thinking this is how she was supposed to look in the first place (if PS2 was able). She looks worn, tortured and hardened. Her new look also shows her age more appropriately. She has a warrior's face now instead of a Hollywood star. I can easily say from her expression she's ready to sacrifice what remains of her.

The only thing that I prefer over the original is the thousand yard stare she has now. To me, it looks she's really seen some shit now. But overall I don't mind the change, she looks good.
  • @SpiritOfParadox
The Boss face looks younger, imo In OG MGS 3, she looked 40 - 50s. But her nose is off. I hope they don't screw up her white suit design.
  • @sengyew83
I'm with you on this, she looks good in Delta, but can be even better with some tweaks.
  • @nex-ex5100
Keep in mind the boss is suppose to be in her 40's or 50's. PS2 couldn't really show that level of detail.
  • I think Snake's face is pretty different too, there's a lot of traits the typical Snake face has that aren't there
  • @urbanberlin
she doesn't look bad but I think a bit off..
  • I have to agree Python. Hopefully they will do a little more tweaks to her face before the full game is released.

I don't think your analysis is too accurate. In MGS3 her eyes are bigger and her nosebone (eye separation) is thinner. Her lips are a little thicker and less wide and her jaw bones are wider. The biggest difference in Delta is that her chin is a lot bigger and i would say kinda bulkier while in MGS3 it's way smaller and sharper. I think toning down her chin alone and making her hair a vibrant blond will make her look a lot better. The other changes are fine on their own.
  • In my opinion the old design was more iconic and suited the MGS tone more. Almost all the good guys in this franchise are looking like models wich make them stand out. Most of the japaneses games made in the early 2000 had very glamorous characters including MGS. For exemple the guy who made the Silent Hill 2 models was working like a psychopath to change every detail he didn't like because he wanted very good looking models. At least the model is not "cheap" looking like the models in the SH2 remake trailers where either the design and the visual quality are bad.

My first thought when I saw her was, "That's not the Boss."
  • @sonsofbiscuits1
I said the same in a different video. Even though this version looks more hardened, the original has a certain look in her eyes that made her so intimidating. She actually looked like the boss in every scene, and even had Volgin stepping backwards in fear. This version looks tough, and hardened by war, but the original looks like a genuine leader and authority figure.
