Imagine you're Neji. You see the flow of chakra. You've studied everything about it, how to manipulate it, and understand that chakra is merely a "flowing river" through your opponent's body. Something you can manipulate to win. ....Now imagine you look in to some loser's chest and see a LITERAL MONSTER staring back at you. Neji was right to keep fighting...sometimes in life, you just don't give up...... But he was a fool for thinking he could win against something like that.

I remember watching this in japanese as a kid. Naruto was absolutely sick man. This moment, he truly earns his respect as a high level prospect! No one thought he could beat neji, and somehow he pulled it off, cause he was and always will be the most unpredictable ninja ever! Him and kakashi were always my fav characters and people say “oh naruto main character basic etc etc” but man this guy, against all odds always came through!

its funny how perspective impacts your viewing experience... If Neji was the MC of Naruto and we'd been following his struggles with the Hyuga Clan and it's archaic laws and struggling to find himself and we watched him pull off the 8 trigrams 64 palms for the first time against this brash, cocky asshole who beaked off at us during an extremely emotional moment for us during the previous round only for our opponent to pull out the Red Chakra cloak we wouldnt have said holy shit what amazing growth hurray Naruto we'd have all been like SHIT the BOSS has a BS second form. Neji has to be borderline terrified right now since he's the only person in the stadium who could see just how malevolent the chakra coursing through naruto is and it not only kept him standing when by all counts he should be down for the count it's given him a significant speed, stamina, and power boost.
