Lyrics:
Glory days, well they'll pass you by
Glory days, in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days

This song came on the radio this morning as I drove through Starbucks. The guy at the server window smiled and started bobbing his head to the music and said, "Bruce!". He couldn't have been more than 22 years old. That's when you know you're timeless: you have staying power from someone like me at age 65, and from someone in their 20's. 😊

The older you get, this song just gets sadder and better all at the same time.

If you're still young and this song doesn't make sense to you right now, take a long, hard look around you and take everything all in.
  • Glory Days indeed. The eighties were a musical revelation. Springsteen certainly contributed to the party.

I was 13 in 1984, I'm 47 now... they made this video 1 block away from my house..at Maxwell's Bar in Hoboken, NJ... the baseball field was in (West New York, NJ) .

I’m 15 and I wish I was alive in the 80s Bruce along with other musicians in this genre are so much more talented
  • I remember when I thought, “My days are just beginning”, when I would hear this song. I had so many hopes and dreams: most unrealistic, but a few that made it. When I hear this song, I remind myself that looking back doesn’t have to be sad. I’ve come a long way. And I thank God for artists like Bruce. If only he knew how he kept my spirit alive......

My husband was a big deal when he was in high school in the early 70s. I love listening to his Glory Days stories. The way his eyes light up makes me smile
  • Went to my 50th high school reunion last week. I put my athletic accomplishments behind me a long time ago. I can't believe how many people remembered those things I did in high school. It made me think about those days since then. I found out that one of my records in track was broken recently. Didn't know I held it for 48 years. I guess I can be proud of what I did now. Seems everyone else was.
  • I turned 40 yesterday. This song has never meant more to me than it does right now. It's the next generation's turn to have their Glory days. Cheers

This song either gets more happy or more sad as you get older, depending on how things turned out for you.

His music is going to be a big hit in nursing homes in about 10 - 20 years. All of us old folks sittin' in our wheelchairs rocking out. Until we fall asleep.

I was around 15 when this came out. I think the 80's has some of the best music of all time! 😍

Makes me sad and happy at the same time. You often don't know you are making a great memory til it's over...our lives are filled with a series of short special moments we often don't appreciate at the time. Appreciate your friends, your youth, your kids as it will all pass by before you know it
  • I'm 55 years old and still bring memories back from high school, the days when life was easier

Clarence knew the importance of the cowbell...

I remember when I got Born in The USA for Christmas in the mid 80s and it was the sound track of my own glory days. I look back at it now with a nostalgic feeling and Bruce and his gang was all part of it. Man oh man, does time fly quickly?
  • Always cracks me up Steven Van Zandt making eyes at Springsteen in this video. He turned out to be such a bad ass on the Sopranos, damn fine actor.
