In my opinion, it’s frustrating because he’s the first of what I feel like would be a pretty major first of his archetype, a dedicated 5 star defense shredder, but over time his purpose as a unit seems to have blurred and now he feels like a jumbled mess with no solidified place in any meta team.

Then they'll say we don't want male units..

He got so nerfed I hate them so much 😒

Yea, I’ve already got Guinaifen on my account, I don’t need slightly better 5* Guinaifen

at this point just make him a 4 star character already, why you bullying him a lot hoyo he's not even out yet

v5 change was the final straw, making the debuff go only 6 times during ult. I was gonna pull him regardless when v4 changes were made. Oh well. It is what it is.

The thing about him is that JQ is still BiS for Acheron in every mode by quite a bit. Jiaoqiu's debuff uptime is a lot better than other nihilities due to it debuffing enemies in upcoming waves and how his stacks increase when using his ult. He will still generate significantly more stacks than other characters for acheron even after the nerf. And if your acheron is E2, Jiaoqiu is still the best single nihility for her by a noticeable amount again And yeah other than that, he's either a downgrade or a side grade to other limited 5 stars in pretty much every team (the only other teams where it makes sense to play him would be dr ratio or DoT teams). There is next to no reason to pull for him unless you have Acheron and really want to upgrade her stack generation The main problem is that Acheron is one of the last characters that needed a buff. Designing a support specifically to help Acheron is questionable to begin with due to her already clearing most of the content comfortably.. JQ was never going to have a kit that was anything special due to this

Also this team can work in pure fiction because whenever enemies spawn they will be inflicted with Black Swans dot (which counts as a Debuff for Acheron stacks) and if you have Jiaoqius field up the enemies will take so much dmg just by taking a turn. If Black Swan and Jiaoqiu’s Dots kill the enemies when they spawn the next enemies that spawn in will be inflicted with arcana which stacks Acheron stacks again which is just crazy.

Remember that it's hoyo we're talking about.... Nerfing a character is possible only when the kit will affect a future character or will create a dynamic with current characters that they can't make it possible since it'll affect sales regarding new characters... An example is that how they changed Raiden's ultimate to make sure it won't work with beido since it'll just be an f2p infinit cycle of bursts..

I was so excited for DoT healer so i return to game... just to find out they removed his healing and made him gunaifen 2.0 :(

"A chef who doesn't want to be a healer isn't worth his salt..." -Jiaoqiu The guy himself thinks he's useless. They could have given him a weak heal for it to make sense, like healing 300 hp of the unit with the lowest health when Jiaoqiu uses his skill.

I'm still planning on pulling for hi, but only cause I like his design.

The nerfs were either to make hamper a future character that would benefit more than acheron which would dismissed him as acheron bis or they just really want to tank the sales for another game, ZZZ to be better??? I wanted Jiaoqiu to be an amazing pull. The first male foxian and nihility support (welt is not a support). Like imagine if they did they shit during Firefly beta versions. who would want her to an inferior himeko or xueyi.

I just need his healing back 😭🙏 That's what originally lured me in into pulling him, cause he was really unique
