Police video captures two commuter planes nearly colliding in Syracuse

Two commuter planes on Monday came within about 600 feet of each other at Hancock International Airport when one plane was told to land on the same runway that another plane was taking off from. The near collision was captured on a North Syracuse police car dash camera.

    My cousin witnessed this from a nearby elementary school and she was sure had the planes collided that she would’ve been killed instantly. She’s one of those glass half empty kind of people.

    Not saying it wasn’t close, but at those angles the planes could’ve been fairly far apart. Optical illusion maybe.
