I love how she refer to the animals as her patients as that is a word usually reserved for humans.

These are my favourite Allure videos: ordinary extraordinary people and their daily routines. :D What a wonderful woman.

I’m realizing just how much thought has to go into your beauty routine when you’re a vet. Thanks for sharing! I’ve learned a lot.

I never even thought about scented products when working with animals. How sweet.

I've wanted to be a veterinarian ever since I was a kid, but I started developing chronic pain that makes it difficult for me to walk. Some days I use a cane, other days crutches, and on bad days I use a wheelchair. Because of this, I thought I couldn't become a vet, and the people I told about this also accepted it as fact that I couldn't be a vet in a wheelchair. Well, this video inspired me to research other vets in wheelchairs and it turns out that there are other people out there doing it! As long as I stick with small animals and have good assistants it should be totally doable. When I started to get sick, I knew I would have to give up a lot of dreams I had for my life, but this is one I think I can still accomplish! Thank you Dr. Avelar for giving me the inspiration to try again <3
