Quick Answer: Hard No.

You can't profit from buying either hobby or retail. People buy retail because it's a lesser degree of ridiculous and they actually want to collect cards.

Buy a hobby box with guarantee hits for the money. Or better yet buy a card you like instead of unboxing

Over the last month, I have literally spent $1,600 on retail product and I have two Caitlin Clark Bowman Chrome U, One Caitlin Clark Bowman Chrome Pink and three Wemby's, one of which was pink. Just yesterday, i walked into a Walmart and purchased 4355.12 worth of discounted blasters. Of the $1,600 spent, i may have obtained $300 back! As a collector, I knew, prior to the pandemic that retail was garbage, but during the pandemic, we had to get what we could get. If you want my advice, don't ever purchase retail, EVER! Just save you money and buy hobby boxes or just purchase the cards you want off of eBay. Imagine if I took that $1,600 into my local card shop? i could have purchased 4 hobby boxes of 2024 Topps Finest!

Good video. Now do the same thing with a few hobby boxes. Could have even worse ROI with the inflated wax prices.

You spent more money on gas, hunting for product that rarely hits store shelves, than you made from the leftovers you found. Retail wax is dying. Quality repacks or buying singles are the only way to go
