I can't believe AMD trusted me with this...

I had a brief meeting with AMD back in December. Fast forward a month, I've got an Epyc 9554 in one hand... and no parts in the other. Sorry this one took so long to figure out, but now that it's all together, let's have some fun.

But first... What am I drinking???

Damn. The only time I'd be able to afford this is when this is like 10 years old lol.
  • Of course Jeff is using all of this as an excuse to get more free hardware to feed to his infinite "we have VDI at home" video series.
  • @DJSammy69.
Run Crysis of course. Cannot wait to see what this beast can do.

I want to hear the sentence "Through the power of buying three of them" as often as possible.
  • 7 times 16x lanes is insane! Jealous? No, you deserve getting this kid of system. Envious? Also no, I sure don't deserve one either. Do I want one? Oh yes, but I can't justify it in a "home lab"! Awesome server Jeff! Congratulations!

How is this channel still under half a million subscribers? Sweet gear and craft bear What's not to love?

The 8004 platform is Siena, not Bergamo as stated… Bergamo is the Zen 4c / high core count SP5 chip in the 9004 series.

I would normally say "why didn't you just use a c19 plug lock insert as intended" but I'm assuming you ran into the exact same problem I ran into....it's virtually impossible to find those inserts sold individually and paying over $60 for 100pc seems exceedingly wasteful lol. I just got a 3D printer though, so I'm sure I can find or draw up a model to fix the issue.

And here I am deciding between Epyc 7001 and 7002 (Gen 1 and 2).

Gaspésienne can be written as "La Gass-pay-zee-en" to be pronounced propely in english. Thank you and have a good one all. 17:52

360W TDP does also include the I/O Die and the I/O with all populated PCIe Slot can consume 100W alone.

Cooling the "Genoa" CPUs is very difficult because the largest fan that fits on the mainboard has 92mm side length. This small size requires the fans to run very fast and be very loud.
